Run by volunteers. Very friendly and helpful. Great display of machinery. Toilets on site. The bunker was an interesting extra too.

A great place to spend an hour or two, full of old steam pumps, some very large some small and others in-between. If you are into old machinery, it's worth a visit. A little cafe is on site run by volunteers as is the site itself .

A great insight into engineering on an old and impressive scale with a few very large water pumps. Also lots of small scale pumps and engines lovingly kept in working condition by a team of enthusiasts. Opening times are restricted so check before visiting.

An amazing place to visit giving one an insight into the past. The presentation of the huge engines is superb and best of all they all are operational. The staff are friendly always keen to show and explain things. Brede is one of must visit places.

AMAZING!! The volunteers at Brede Steam Giants are truly salt of the earth people, true heroes who keep the heritage and history of steam mechanics alive. This place is incredible. There is a tea shop with scones, cake and chocolate. The cake was great. The ladies are total gems 💎 Must visit place. Full of character and love ❤

Very interesting collection of machinery relating to the water works including two enormous steam engines which pumped water from deep down in the ground. All the staff are very willing to answer questions and a small tea bar offers tea and cakes. A very interesting visit and would recommend for all ages. And just in case they have a nuclear bunker on site!

This museum is a 100% golden jem of a museum in every way. How these pumps and engines where ever designed and built and moved there in the day and still work and run as if they are new. Guides where very good to talk to and show you around. A good cafe with very good cakes. I would go again to look round.

Took our 3 year old sons here and they absolutely loved it. Lots to see and plenty of interactive exhibits for them to try. Staff were very knowledgable and more than happy to show the boys the equipment and let them have a go! Highly recommend a visit. Open on the first Saturday of every month and Bank Holidays so check before you go.

What an amazing place. So much history lovingly preserved by dedicated volunteers. And so generous with there time too. No question was too silly and the machinery was described and explained in a way that was interesting and informative yet easily understood. I would recommended this to anyone young or old.
