We had to book a hotel at very short notice due to bad weather conditions, and were fortunate to find this wonderful place. The hotel accommodated us without any hesitation, which was a relief. Our rooms (x 2) were lovely, offering a comfortable retreat from the weather. The breakfast was equally delightful. However, what truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional staff. They were the kindest, and their warm welcome put us at ease immediately. I'm grateful for their hospitality during a challenging time. Thank you so much from all four of us!

What a beautiful two night stay with a beautifully cooked breakfast each morning. This place is a hidden gem if you are looking for a place that is quiet, peaceful and in a lovely area of Wales. The hosts were amazing and nothing was too much trouble, but also just left you to enjoy your stay. The house itself has been beautifully restored and has lots of character. Would definitely stay here again when we are back in Wales.

Carefully restored dwelling house with interesting history, set in spacious gardens. Part of site is run as a farm (goats, sheep, hens and greenhouses) by a local charity and that too is accessible to house guests. Tennis court available, while drawing room of main house offers a pool table.
Free parking on site. And we could even see our car from bedroom window.
The owner, Paul, is happy to talk about its history and provide information about the area.
Newtown is a short drive away with museums and plenty of eating places. Newtown lies on the River Severn - just a small river at this point - and the area offers plenty of country walks (and is on the Severn Way) and historic sites such as the Montgomery Canal.

I booked in here this afternoon after a two and a half hour drive from working in Port Talbot in the South. What a delight this beautiful B&B is. Superb, relaxing location, set within stunning grounds. The planting of trees and shrubs has been done with great care to create wonderful colours and textures. The greeting on arrival was warm, with lots of advice from Paul on where to eat and things to see. The interior of the place is stunning and beautifully maintained. My room is spacious, clean and luxurious, with a lovely, elegant bathroom. How nice to have a choice of bath or shower. Also thoughtful full sized products such as Radox Muscle Soak and Dove body wash. It was fine that I wanted breakfast tomorrow at 7.45 instead of 8.00 (which is the usual start time) and also fine that I’m Vegan, so beans mushrooms, tomatoes and toast is my preferred breakfast. I feel so lucky that my company booked me in here, rather than the usual corporate town centre hotel. I will be back.....hopefully next time for a holiday.

The Forest Country B&B is one of those picturesque properties that one thinks of when picturing a gentile guesthouse nestled within a Welsh valley. Its gardens are well-kept, the house full of character, and the host, Paul, a helpful, friendly owner who looks after his guests. We particularly enjoyed the CD collection and billiards, and the rooms are decorated sympathetically and clean. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Just a few minutes away from Newtown this place feels right out on it's own. Very nice old building and great rooms. There is a lovely garden area and ample parking. I stayed here on business and there were some nice touches. No dinner option but good local options readily available. The owners are very welcoming and very laid back. It was a nice place to stay and represents good value in my opinion. The breakfast was excellent and was served early enough to get me to work well fed and in good time.

I stayed in the holiday cottages with my family and my brother and sister stayed in two of the others. It couldn't have been a better stay. Michelle and Paul the hosts were very polite and helpful. There as a games room which my children loved plus plenty of grounds for them to explore. Nearby is Kerry which had a nice pub and Newtown had everything we needed including a large Tesco. The cottages were all very well equipped and comfortable. My parents stayed in the B&B and had a lovely room with four poster bed, they said the breakfast was great. We will definitely be back.

Michelle and Paul were so welcoming The Forest is a beautiful house in an idyllic setting. The Rooms were immaculate with every conceivable tea going I drink green tea as a rule and I was really pleased to see that there was green tea in the caddy ,along with hot chocolate accompanied with delightful biscuits. My self and my husband spent two night here for the bank holiday weekend and I couldn't find fault with anything, a lot of thought went into making our stay as comfortable as possible .The bathroom was fully equipped with shower gels cotton buds cotton wool a warm towel rail and the bed was really comfortable. There was an abundance of food for breakfast with plenty of choices for everyone. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much Paul and Michelle. Paul and Carolyn Cranston

We had a lovely experience at The Forest B&B. The location is great, and you have plenty to do in the region. We took the opportunity to go a little further and visit Snowdon and even Aberystwyth. It was a magical week-end, the house is incredible and the room was really comfy, it felt like home. The host is very nice and dedicated, he gave us some great advice. The breakfast is super! Very good food, some welsh specialities along with more traditional British breakfast items. This was a success. I will definitely recommend.
Thanks for having us!

Absolutely a lovely place and very nice owners. The small house we got had three bedrooms with three bathrooms. WiFi and all the equipment's are in top condition. We found spices, sugar, etc. , really everything what you need to make a nice dinner or the morning coffee.
I can only recommend.

This is a hidden gem. A beautiful old house in a beautiful valley. We've stayed here a couple of times and it makes a great base for forays to the likes of Aberystwyth, Newtown, Aberdovey, or hiking up the Kerry Ridge. Words fail me as to how beautiful it is up on the ridge. This time of year there will be snow, and it's like a winter wonderland.

Enjoyed my brief stay here. Rooms are well furnished and immaculately clean. It is located down some long windy country lanes but it is well signposted. Breakfast was very high quality, delicious and delivered fast. Couldn't find a fault with it. Thanks again Paul and Michelle, will look at coming back again

Wonderful comfortable and relaxing stay at an excellent B&B situated in a most beautiful and tranquil location. My family and I were grateful to Paul for his helpful and professional hospitality and we thoroughly enjoyed his delicious cooked breakfasts. It was a memorable and special experience to stay in the room with the luxury of a 4 poster, super king bed with sofa and dual aspect views over the front garden. A superb room to relax in after an enjoyable day walking and exploring the local heritage sites with wonderful scenery and views across Montgomeryshire, Powys and Shropshire, Mid Wales. The downstairs living room with the grand piano, pool table and table football game was also a most welcome facility and the maps, leaflets and books with fascinating information about the local area were most useful.

Stunning cottages with play areas (like tennis and billiardo) and they have hot tubs. The place is amazing at the Welsh lands but lack some hospitality (the owner wasn't that friendly).
