Stopped for lunch in Clun, found this little cafe on the main road. There is some outside seating on the front too, but as it's dog-friendly we decided to go inside. There's a decent range of hot and cold drinks, along with sandwiches, toasties, soups and cakes. Service was quick and friendly, price was OK too.

What a little gem.... The Maltings Cafe was built as a malt house around 1640 and oozes old charm which adds to the whole experience, the food preparation area at one side of the kitchen used to be the original kiln. The menu offers just the right balance of options, soup, sandwiches, cakes, deserts, wholesome mains all very tasty. Look out for the knitted tea cozies they are just fantastic. Although small you don't feel crowed or awkward. We found parking at Clun Castle was easiest and is only a five minute walk away.

What a lovely café, perhaps more of a classic tea room, with an excellent pot of tea and a first class pecan and walnut flapjack! We popped in on the spur of the moment while passing by and were very pleased we did. The Maltings had oat milk for tea and a selection of vegan-friendly cakes. The staff (owners maybe?) were very friendly and helpful too. We'll be back next time we're in charming Clun. Thank you ☺

Absolutely fantastic little cafe. Just what we needed after a long walk with the dogs. Fab Full English breakfast, great friendly and welcoming service, accommodated our dogs and fell in love with the knitted tea cosy! Xx

Cosy ambience and amazing tomato and bacon soup was just the job on a bleak, damp day. And dog-friendly too.

We stayed very local and had a breakfast here. The food was unreal, cooked fresh so arrived pipping hot! Both of us had clear plates. The tea cosy was adorable and I loved it! Nice touch to include orange juice with the breakfast too! Really, really worth a visit!

Just lovely. What more can I say. The picture says it all. Full breakfast, toast and preserve and fresh orange juice. Topped off by a pot of tea with a comedy tea cosy. Pamela 😆😆

Wonderful little cafe we came across by chance. Proper welcome, proper home cooking and a great choice main meals or simple, but fantastic sandwiches. If you are near by just go it’s well worth it.

Went to the Maltings café for a spot of late lunch whilst staying in the area in August and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great menu and good value. Also very dog friendly with water bowls and treats for your four legged companions. We liked it so much, we went back for breakfast on our last day, even though it was in the wrong direction! Will definitely return when in the area again.

Lovely cafe, delicious food at good prices. Nice people and atmosphere.
We had a Prawn Salad and a Mac n Cheese dish, all fresh and good attention to detail. Cakes to take out. Will visit again when in the area
