Sunday lunch is quite good but with improvement to service could be really good . Meal was not hot despite a request for it to be hot and drinks order was not taken at the table so ordered from the bar. Request for a small meal was also disregarded. Staff are very pleasant however

Absolutely superb accommodation, food and hospitality. Not exactly cheap but great value for money considering the great venue, quality of the food and the lovely staff. Can't recommend enough.
Definitely going back 👍👍👍

Enjoyed a meal here with family new years day. There was a problem with one of the meals. Which was dealt with brilliantly. It's when things go wrong restaurants show their real worth. And this place shone. Well done and thank you. Would recommend this place highly .

Exceptional hotel.
A group of 10 of us stayed for the weekend for a hill running break and I cannot fault this hotel at all.
Staff were fantastic, extremely friendly and welcoming.
The rooms were all comfortable and of a high standard.
Food offering was great. We had 2 x breakfasts, 1 X lunch and 1 X dinner and everybody was really pleased with the food and choicesn offered. They were really accommodating to our request to have an earlier breakfast on day 2.
What set the hotel apart though is the outside area, the gardens, patios were just brilliant.
I'd stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much.

Stayed for a night with three friends while walking Wild Edric's Way. Brilliant hotel with friendly, welcoming staff. The rooms were very comfortable. Dinner was superb and there was a great choice of breakfast options. We enjoyed the locally brewed beer in the bar. Fantastic beer garden with lovely views of the Shropshire Hills. Highly recommended and will be back

A lovely hotel to stay in, warm, friendly, cosy, amazing views from the beautiful gardens, the garden is exceptional.
Cosy rooms, great team, lovely owner Henry.
Dinner was great, best steak & Ale pie ever, 10/10.
Great breakfast choices
Bishops Castle is a gorgeous little town with interesting quirky shops, you really do feel away from it all.
I will definitely visit again

I booked a room very last minute (same day arrival) as I was going to a wedding at Walcott Hall - be sure to book a taxi in advance (the hotel were great in providing the details for this).

Every member of staff was so helpful and friendly, the room was a good size, the bed was comfy and a nice shower - stunning views too.

Breakfast included was a lovely bonus and the food was great, stayed for lunch before driving home too and it was equally as tasty.

Wouldn't hesitate to book if I was ever in the area again.

Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed here on the first night of our holiday as a stop on the way to where we would be staying. While we were there we had such a good time that we will look to stay there on holiday instead we enjoyed it so much.
The first thing to say is because we have a dog it can be hard to find places we can stay and take them with us, this hotel is not so much dog friendly as almost dog orientated. The hotel provided dog welcome boxes with everything we would need to feed our dog in the room bowl, mats etc. They had everything we could need while we stayed there for our hound. They have separate dining areas for people with their dogs and those who do not have any and the dining arrangements are lovely in both.
The room also came with electric fans which may seem like a small thing but made all the difference with how hot it was while we stayed. The staff were friendly and polite, the drinks on offer were very good and they had local offerings one of which is brewed down the road which was excellent. Finally it is worth mentioning the food which was very good, both breakfast and dinner while we were there.
We look forward to staying there again in the future.

Didn’t stay at the Castle but came every evening to drink in the beautiful beer garden - one of the nicest I’ve been to. Had dinner on one occasion (Coronation chicken pie was very tasty). Nice atmosphere and staff always welcoming and attentive - so important. Loved the older bar are, loads of charm.

Didn't stay in the hotel but came here one evening for drinks - fantastic beer garden and terrace! and then saw the food they were bringing out to people and decided to book in for dinner the next night; we were not dissapointed! The service was quick and friendly, the food was incredible - and very reasonably priced for the quality! - and I have never seen a menu with so many great dishes on; something which is very hard to find these days! My friends and I were visiting the area to get out into the country for the weekend and this place would honestly make us return

Had a table booked for food as we were in the area.
Arrived to find friendly efficient staff and management. Good choice of local beers and food was very good.
We were fortunate to see a local band playing which added to the atmosphere while in the hotel gardens.

Went up to Bishop's Castle for a relative's birthday.
The Castle Hotel is a lovely place to stay; all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
We had a birthday celebration meal there, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the service was excellent.
Breakfast laid on in the morning was fab and delicious with some very nice people serving us, once again the service was excellent.
We also got free parking there, the rooms were nicely presented, very tidy and clean.
Highly recommended.

A wonderful place to stay. Warm, welcoming, quirky with staff who can't do enough for you. The food was consistently excellent with a good menu . Perfect for walkers location wise, & when the weather gets bad you can always pop back for a coffee or afternoon tea!
We highly recommend this hotel.
