Bank House B&B

Gerry is the most generous host and the Bank House is a wonderful B&B. Our stay was unplanned as we got caught in flooding on our way up to Holyhead. Gerry could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The Bank House is delightful and we will be back for a proper visit sometime soon!

The ingredients of the perfect B&B: a gorgeous Georgian house in the heart of a peaceful little town (Bishops Castle); long, lazy breakfasts with copious amounts of tea & coffee; a freshly baked lemon cake in the room. And all done with love by a wonderful host Gerry who made us feel immediately at home. We stayed for 3 nights and had to tear ourselves away from Bank House and Bishop’s Castle.

Highly recommend Bank House - it is exceptional and really good value for money. The house is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and light with very comfy beds. It was really clean and a beautiful home made lemon drizzle left in the room. Breakfast was great and Gerry was a great host - a good mix of available but not intrusive. We went as a large family group and would definitely go again.

Just back from a 3 night stay at the Bank House Bed and Breakfast.
Gerry, the host, is exceptional. Helpful, friendly and also a superb cook.
We stayed on the Caradoc room. This is a large room with a very comfortable super king bed with high quality linen. The bathroom is also very large with a free standing bath and separate shower.
The home made lemon drizzle cake (not just a couple of slices, a whole cake!) in our room was delicious. As was the shortbread.
Breakfast was also excellent. Made freshly once at your table with locally sourced products.
Overall, a great place to stay and highly recommended.

An amazing place. Bishop’s Castle is a lovely little town and this is a gem.

The rooms are absolutely stunning (I’ve stayed in two and seen another). They are large and well-appointed, with excellent bathrooms. The beds are incredibly comfy.

Gerry is a brilliant host, and makes a mean cake!

Bank House is a beautiful place to stay to visit the border of Wales and England. The Shropshire hills provide wonderful walking experiences. Gerry is a fabulous host and makes amazing cakes. The bedrooms are stunningly designed. A great place to spend time in comfort.

Went as part of a group for a residential weekend. Amazing house, superb hospitality. Very comfortable bed. Lots of thoughtful touches. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

Wonderful house which is beautifully run by Gerry whose breakfasts set you up well for a day in the Shropshire hills. Highly recommended.

Fantastische b&b, ruime kamer, fantastisch bed, heerlijke douche en een super ontbijt met alles erop en eraan. Auto of motor(en) staan op eigen terrein. Vergeet niet om de shortbread en cake te proeven die op de kamer klaar staan. Perfecte uitvalsbasis om Shropshire en Wales te ontdekken. Prachtige omgeving, zelfs als het niet regent :)
The Royal Welsh show is op een uur afstand en de route er naartoe is prachtig.
Gerry is een hele fijne gastvrouw met een geweldig gevoel voor (Engelse) humor!
Tip van de dag: private dining bij de Chai Shop tegenover de Bank House. Authentiek Indisch eten.
We hebben vier dagen genoten van ons verblijf.
