Make sure you are reasonably fit, appropriately dressed (good shoes) and the weather is good - I would not recommend it when it's raining and slippery, or in strong wind. There is quite some scrambling/climbing involved, and going along a sharp ridge with a long way down on both sides if you fall off. A bit scary but great hike. Rather do it going up, I think it should really be a one way trail (but it's not).

My favourite part of the Snowdon Horseshoe and by far the hardest. Walking the knife edge ridge is one of the greatest experiences of my life and the views on a clear day are second to none.

What started as just one goal to climb Crib Goch ended in me walking all four peaks of the horseshoe, including Snowdon, for one of the hardest and most fulfilling adventures.

I believe three of the peaks are the highest in North Wales, according to a fellow hiker, and I only found out at the end that this is what I had done on my descent and in a passing conversation.

If you're ever thinking about doing something a bit out of your comfort zone, then this is a worthy test of character and skill.

I am very happy I took this one on and managed to fulfil a dream I have been thinking about for months.

I am not going to lie; I was bricking it before I started, but I soon found myself enjoying every second ❤🥰❤🥰❤ 🏴?????? 🏴?????? 🏴?????? 🏴?????? ❤🥰❤🥰❤

Thank you, everyone, for your words of support and encouragement xx

Absolutely amazing. It has a few challenging climbs and the rest is a nice scramble.

Unfortunately the ridge was clouded for me which made the journey feel a little more daunting.

Continued around to complete the horseshoe walk and thankfully the weather cleared up.

Will definitely return again on a clear day.

Gorgeous place. Went on a weekday and parked at a car park alongside the road (£8 for a whole day), which was half empty (I was there at around 9am). Then took a trail across the road leading to the nail carpark from where the easy pathway to Crib Goch leads. It is an easy walk with many other hikers alongside.

First time ever doing Snowdon me and my brother took this route, it was an amazing experience, not going to lie there were some sketchy parts that did scare me but I loved the experience and has made me want to do more.
Was very tiring and didn't really feel the benefits until I got down. But for anyone looking for a challenging hike and are okay with ridges and grade 1 scrambles I would recommend. Be careful one false move can be disastrous.

Probably best hike in the UK. Really fun scrambling up Crib Goch, need good fitness and pay a lot of attention in a couple of points on the ridge. Then hiked up Garnedd Ugain and finished with Snowdon which is always a bit underwhelming with the hordes of half-naked walkers coming up on the main path + the train…

unexpected rock climbing as i dont know what means scrambling before(sad). however, that was so funny and have very good view from here. although a bit tired and sometimes confuse where i climbed up but so far manageable at sunny day without wind but surely not for novice walker and acrophobia.

Absolutely stunning. Please do only if you are reasonably fit and not scared of heights. Its too windy up there so dress for all weather conditions with proper boots etc., Quite a bit of scrambling and climbing involved.

Mind blowing views. Rocky mountains and very steep uphill. If you are planning to go all the way up, make sure to keep that in mind at some points you have to scramble. It's definitely not for everyone to go all the way up. Even if you don't go up, it's still worthed.

This is one of my favourite hikes, not for anyone without a head for heights as it is a ridge walk with steep drops both sides and some climbing to do. You do need a good level of fitness for this and it should only be attempted in good weather - be prepared for sudden changes in weather as well. Going from Pen y pass up the Pyg track to Snowdon then back down the Pyg track you should allow a minimum of 7 hours for an average walker.

Don't bring dogs and little kids up here, it's irresponsible parenting.
That said, on a clear day with little wind it's not difficult for fit person prepared to do a little climbing. Very scenic, far quieter than the other routes but for food reason.

Crib is a great route to do the views are amazing up there, but it can be misty and the cloud cover can come in quick.
Before attempting it look at some pics because there are parts that are a tough scramble, theres a long tight ridge you have to cross and 2 or 3 climbs so id say you have to have some confidence as it does have tricky parts, saying that though you do it them the views and accomplishment are 🤩👌🏼🏞.

Not for the faint hearted, but exceptionally rewarding if you choose to take it on. Exhilarating scrambles; definitely be careful and have a sound plan before going. Avoid going when wet. It was quite dry when I went and so everything was much more manageable.

First of all, this is a pro level rock climbing. If you can casually go and try it. 😑 it's very dangerous and steep rock climbing. Though it's very beautiful. Pgy track is easier but lengthy.

The best way to summit Snowdon if you're an experienced hiker/ climber. Begins with a long, moderate grade scramble before reaching the knife ridge. There's a couple more scrambles after the ridge. The path isn't clear at times before and after the ridge and it's down to your own intuition to figure it out in poor weather or at quiet times

One for dry, calm weather, this ridge is one of, if not THE most stunning scramble in the UK. A fear-inducing climb up to a terrifyingly exposed knife-edge ridge, with spectacular views of Snowdon all the way along. Not one for inexperienced hikers as there is a real risk of death along this ridge.

Breathtaking and wonderful. Monitor the weather and climb in good conditions from east to west and you will not be disappointed. One of the best ridge walks in the UK. Novices should be with experienced climbers Please make sure you have all the essential clothing and equipment for your own safety and wellbeing
