This is a great place to pick up many items for DIY, decorating, tools, electrical and gardening. Very convenient to have close to hand and not have to travel to Barnard Castle.

Everything you could possibly require has somehow been packed and well displayed on every possible surface in this shop. Yet you can still move around freely! I have been coming here for years and it took me an embarasing long time to realise there is stuff for sale on the ceiling too! Great shop, great staff, the village would be at a loss without you.

Brilliant, tardis-like hardware and household store across three floors, with a small outdoor wear department as well, DIY tools, paint, electrical and plumbing items, storage boxes, garden plants and compost plus everything else you can think of that you might need around the house, brilliant store and friendly staff; if you can't find what you need do ask them it might be hidden away somewhere

Not just a shop, its an institution in Middleton-in-Teesdale - an Aladdin's cave. Think Arckwright's on tv and this shop has it in spades!

Called in here yesterday to replace my campervan gas bottle which had ran out that morning, being a novice, having never changed the gas bottle before, I asked if someone could explain to me how to do it.
A really helpful young man swiftly grabbed a tool from the shelf in the shop and came out to my van, he removed the old canister, and popped the new one in for me! He saved our camping trip, and made my day because he was just so kind and helpful!

Great shop for all the important things in life. Its our Go To place for all our nuts and bolts, decorating needs, firelighters and kindling, dog biscuits, feather dusters, kitchen equipment, laundry baskets, coal scuttles .... and a million other things too numerous to mention.
The recent opening of a 3rd floor selling a large range of outdoor clothing is the icing on the cake.
I cannot rate this friendly local store highly enough.

A gem of a shop which has been my saviour during lockdown! So much nicer than the big impersonal chain stores and will always be my first port of call for anything DIY or gardening items. Keep up the good work.

Excellent supplies to kit out a whole house. We would have been lost without it in the village and would have had to travel miles.

Get plants, paint, kettles, lightbulbs, Christmas decs, dog food, screws, and presents for family. Have also had fridges, freezer, washer, cooker and vacuum cleaners .delivered to the door. Thank you !

An alladins cave. Full of anything you may need for the house. Amazingly well stocked.

I don't know where we would be with out Raines in Middleton. Fabulous range of goods. Willing staff. If they don't have it they can get it and do if they can. 5stars everytime

If Raines haven't got it, it's not worth having! Great shop that has something for everyone. The staff are helpful and welcoming too.
