Excellent pie and chips. Winner of 2024 national pie championships. Very friendly staff. Worth the trip. Very simple setting. The focus is on the food.

I've just visited this Fish & Chip shop, which is in the Top 50 Fish & Chip shops in the UK. I must state that it deserves every single accolade that it has received. Friendly staff, a perfect serving of Fish & chips, fabulous crispy batter and a large portion of chips, served piping hot and freshly cooked in around five minutes. I relaxed and ate them on the picnic benches outside the shop, which were full of other customers enjoying their food. I spied a delicious looking Large Steak and Potato Pie and will tackle one of those on my next visit. Probably the best fish & chips in a fifty mile radius. Well worth the thirty mile round journey!

'Proper nice food' Best service and best food by far! The Lamb and Potato pie was delicious. I've got to commend the staff as well. Amelia on the counter is Ace with her sidekick Jess. Very warm and welcoming with delicious food.

Beyond compare! I had the Lamb, mint and potato pie with chips, peas, and gravy. Others in my company had fish. We all loved our dinners.

I came here as I wanted a reason to go for a motorbike ride in the North Pennines. I had delicious cod & chips with mushy peas; the cod was perfectly cooked - light but crispy and not greasy. The chips were also delicious - perfectly cooked, slightly crisp and not greasy. I had table service to the benches outside with salt and vinegar shakers to add to my taste. Very friendly service.

Excellent minted lamb pie and chips , , because I sat outside on the picnic style benches, it was served on a plate and not in a bag. nice touch.

I popped in after a late afternoon ride through the Dales, hungry for food and I recommend this place for its friendliness, quick service and great fish n chips.
Nice to have my tea on a sunny evening, outside in a quiet village. Next to the road but not too busy.
Quite large portions were served and it was very popular with locals and with holiday makers/visitors to the area (judging by their accents).
Definitely worth popping in again the next time I'm out on the bike that way.

Eating pies and chips at the Middleton in Teesdale fish and chip shop was a delightful experience. The pies were perfectly cooked with a crispy crust and a delicious filling, while the chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The staff was friendly and provided quick service. We enjoyed our meal while taking in the beautiful views of the village. It was a satisfying and comforting meal that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Visited Thursday evening. Food was freshly prepared, fish and chips were excellent, so was the fish cakes. I would recommend it, will visit it again if I am in the area.

Definitely a beautiful place to stop off for lunch after a hike to the nearby low force waterfall. Food is always beautiful staff are friendly and it's always busy .

Quite simply the tastiest chips I've had from a fish and chip shop. Had I known that the supreme champion pie winner for 2024 made pies here I would have made sure to order one. They don't hang around. I would absolutely recommend visiting and sampling the menu.

Easily the best chippy I've ever been to in recent times. Excellent reliable quality. Friendly staff. Busy and often have to queue. Located in the heart of the Middleton in Teesdale village.

Staying close by and we were advised to come to Middleton in Teesdale fish and chips. Definitely not disappointed with what we bought. Both got fish and split a bag of chips. The batter was light and crispy and the fish cooked perfectly.

Lovely fish and chips. Loved the homemade tartare sauce. Friendly service. Order exactly as asked. Cooked fresh so didn't mind a bit of wait time.
