Loved everything about it. The quality of the antique furnishings, the regal feel of real worn leather. The quality of the beer, the professionalism and hospitality of the staff, all in the humbling and dramatic towering green hills of the North of the best country on earth. I’ve been around the world, but no - I never slept so peacefully as I did here. So thanks so much to everyone who made my stay so special.

Didn't stay, so can't review rooms. As a pub it's great. Spot on beer, bar games.
A really enjoyable pit stop.
Top notch Bar staff too.

Cracking weekend away staying at the Teesdale Hotel! It's brilliantly situated for hiking around teesdale, we were made to feel extremely welcome by Dave (and Luna his dog!). Great food and great beer on tap, our room was to a very high standard. Couldn't recommend enough.

Great hotel with really good food. I was in a single room which whilst a bit dated was still really really good and had everything needed after a day outdoors. DB&B was definitely worth it.

Pleasantly interesting menu, at slightly cheaper than we are used to and rather better quality than we are used to

Really worth a visit to eat and relax

Excellent dinner, really inventive and delicious food. The smoked mushrooms in particular were unusual but really tasty and a welcome change from standard veggie options.

Went in just before Christmas '23 to try the new menu; spectacular food, friendly staff and a lovely dining room.
The menu has been updated with the arrival of a new chef in October and is well worth a trip. All the food was incredibly tasty, decent sized portions and a good mix of vegetarian and fish dishes alongside the meat across the 'Pub Classics' and 'À la carte' menus.

We absolutely loved our stay here, everything was perfect and food was outstanding. We love old coaching inns and this was just so lovely. Room large, bed comfortable and great long bath. We love a bathe after a long walk in the beautiful countryside. Our scallop and monkfish starter was superb and mains cooked beautifully, profiteroles and chocolate pudding delightful. Wine list was a high standard. Breakfast excellent. We will definitely return soon and recommend. It was true bliss sitting out the front in the sunshine watching the world go by and looking at the rolling green hills - just what we needed.

Lovely local pub feel and staff friendly and welcoming. We ate here twice during the week we stayed near by and we thoroughly enjoyed the food both times, cooked to a high standard.

Staying for a week in the wonderful Middleton in Teesdale. On a busy Saturday lunch time, our party of 5 had a really great bar menu lunch. The fish and chips were really good, the fish was fresh, lovely flakes in a tasty beer batter. Star of our lunch was the steak and ale pie which my daughter had. It was so good we went again tonight where myself and my better half both ordered it. The steak was really tasty, the meat very tender, the gravy dark and really rich. Staff are very friendly as and welcoming, prices are competitive. Well worth a visit.

Had an absolutely fantastic meal at the weekend. Really excellent quality - the chef and her/his crew obviously know a thing or two about good local produce and great flavour combinations. Top notch and at a very reasonable price. All of the staff very friendly - a nice relaxed atmosphere. Keep up the good work!

My wife and I have eaten at the restaurant on two occasions for lunch. We liked both the Winter and Summer menu, with a good selection of more traditional offerings but also a selection with some imaginative/creative twists on offer as well.
Very tasty food, friendly service and reasonably priced.
Definitely recommend

Perfect place to stay to roam about the Pennines. Comfy beds and high pressure showers. Towels changed every day and maid service in the rooms. Fantastic service for a 2 star hotel. Dined at the restaurant in the evening and it was lovely, also had breakfast which was good too. We enjoyed our stay.
