Ristorante Borgovino

The inside of this restaurant is nicely decorated and has good AC (we came mid-July). We tried the local fish dish and the pasta with mussels. Both were very good and reasonably priced. The owner and staff were all very nice. I definitely recommend coming here.

This is located in a picturesque alley slightly hidden away from the busy streets. The server was very welcoming and the food was amazing!!! You have to try their ‘secret pasta’ and the lasagna. You can tell the food was made fresh to order and was well priced! Great find in Varenna.

This place needs better reviews!! Amazing dinner. Get the mussels and if they have lasagna for a special…… get it! When mamma is chef you r guaranteed an amazing meal!

Definitely recommend, luckily for us we didn’t need to make a reservation. The food was delicious and i totally recommend the swordfish it was great. And the pasta. The staff was very welcoming and made sure we was okay whilst having our meal which is nice of them. The only thing I would say is the menu was quite hard to read as it was in a front type style nevertheless everything was great :D

Lovely small restaurant with great risotto, fresh trout, fresh ripe tomato insalata caprese, good wine list. We had a pinot noir Blanco, rare and very tasty. Friendly quick service, nice ambience.

Enjoyed our dinner very much! Friendly waiter and he gave good wine pours! Food came out quickly and was delicious. Dessert was yummy too! Good place for a nice dinner. Very reasonable prices. 😊.

Great place it’s just a lady that serves and cook wow! She is aware of everything and everyone on the restaurant. Everything we ate was delicious and the pasta is fresh, we would definitely recommend it and will come back someday

A hidden gem in the city. Amazing service, food, and wine. Very affordable, but with a unique menu and an excellent chief. We had lasagna, pasta, filet (perfect rare), and a desert similar to a baked Alaska. Such an amazing experience. A must try. The views may not be of the water, but they are amazing just the same. Excuse the filet picture, as I was too hungry to wait. Of note, email for a reservation as it helps.

Cozy, authentic, and excellent!
My wife and I had lunch here while visiting Varenna. The place is small (18 seats or so) and it is run by a couple: the wife cooks and the husband serves the tables. The food is excellent! We tried Polenta taragna con funghi porcini and also with cheese, then ravioli alla valtellinese and their special fettuccine borgovino which were to die for. The food is excellent, the place is cozy, and service impeccable!

This cute Osteria caught our eye every time we walked by, so we decided to go there on our last night for dinner. The interior decor is quite attractive and tasteful, and the food was excellently prepared in creative and delicious ways. We had the delicious "secret pasta" and the outstanding seafood soup, which was rich and spicy. At the end of the meal, the manager brought out a great dessert wine, perfectly paired with biscotti.

Came here with my husband by recommendation from our Airbnb host. It did not disappoint. In fact it may have been one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve had in Italy. The seafood soup was so flavorful with quality seafood cooked to perfection. The crab ravioli had a tangy lemon sauce was so refreshing and the pasta just melts in your mouth. The beef with a very rich red wine sauce reminds me of boeuf bourguignon but the beef was cooked to medium instead of fully cooked in a stew. And finally the dessert was wonderful, and somewhat surprisingly the white ice cream is caramel flavor! Overall an awesome meal for two plus the service was above and beyond. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

This was our best meal in 2 weeks touring Italy! The trout and potatoes were the best I’ve had.

Lasagna was really good and tasted like home cooked food. The specialty pasta is cooked in red wine and tasted okay. Thankfully we came in before the lunch crowd as the place is really small and barely accommodates 12 people. The waiter may seem emotionless but it is normal, i don’t think he meant it. Food is reasonably priced compared to other restaurants nearby. Overall we enjoyed the lunch!

Lovely ristorante that made me feel at home and well looked after. Their house specialty pasta was delicious and the tiramisu! Indulge in some local wine while here

The perfect one restaurant between old streets of Varenna. There is not a huge people and can find beautiful calm nice place to relax and eat a perfect dish. The staff was very polite and kindly. The menu was varied. It was perfect time spend there. Love this place.
