Don Alejo Mexican Restaurant

I just moved here from Athens Alabama and I have to say I've found a great place to eat. The service is really good and the food is great. I have eaten here 2 times and after eating at other places around Hartselle none are as good as this place.

Omg the food 😍 we had a fun dinner this Saturday and good was awesome! Service was amazing

So we went on a Friday just me my 4 year old and my 3 year old. We were eating and hadn’t finished yet and the kids needed to go to the bathroom. We went all of us to the bathroom and one of the workers accidentally took our food. I came back from the bathroom it wasn’t there but two of the workers rushed to me saying we will remake everything and it was so sweet. They remade our food and only charged me for my meal which was 8$ so to return the kindness that they showed this single mom I replayed them with a 20$ tip. The food was great thank yall so much for your kindness and great service!

They have amazing salsa. I always have a friendly server. I honestly have never had a bad experience here.

The food was flavorful and done exactly how we wanted it. The waitress was excellent she was quick to fill our drinks and make sure we were satisfied. We really enjoyed our time and the enviroment was open and bright without being crowded

It was amazing they sat 7 of us. Food was right. Waitress was soooo nice. They knew my dad and mom's order by heart. Kids and I visited from Pell city

The service was very quick, the restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. Our server was very attentive. A very surprising gem in Alabama. We ordered the #7 and the shrimp chimichanga and it was very affordable.

The food is so good and the portions are generous. I ask for the extra hot salsa and it's delicious. Don's is must have for us and we eat here regularly.

Great food and even better drinks! Ive jever thought about a steak feom a Mexican restaurant, but let me tell you OMG. Its absolutely divine. The steamed veggies are an added bonus! You have to try it for yourself.

Hiding in plain sight, this will be my new go to mexican dinner place.
Chips were warm and salsa was flavorful. I got a cowboy chimi, basically a fajita chimi . It was very large and had a good mix of meat and veggies. My husband got fish tacos and was very impressed at the filet but in quality and taste.
Everything came out hot and well timed given how busy it was.
This place is just in a corner of a shopping center with little traffic and some empty stores but inside feels comfortable and the food is fantastic.
Update: Still fantastic, take out is well prepared and packaged too.

This place is our favorite for Mexican food. Everything we have ordered has always tasted great and looks fantastic! The only complaint would be that the service is not up to par. Other than that, the food is a 5 star. Best salsa around!

Found this gem on the way back from Destin...would highly recommend!! Food and service were fantastic, prices reasonable good choices as well...definitely will stop here again next time we are going back through this way

Good Ole Don’s; hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants outside of Texas (the obvious standard that all Mexican dining establishments must judged by).
Speaking of Texas, I realized the other day that it has been over six months since I went home. Needless to say I miss my home planet, everywhere outside of Texas is just plain dismal, and lacking any of the outsized luster and pride of life that us Texans hold so dear. But going to the Don’s and seeing my boy Omar, always somehow make me feel closer to my home planet.

I took my picky mom here for lunch. She like it! I did too! Tacos & burritos are very good.
Very nice Decor & this place is Big= very misleading from exterior.

One of the best places to eat in hartselle we eat there Thursday I highly recommend it hands down

This is a regular visit for me and my husband as well as my mom who was 84. We always get the best food and service there especially Teresa one of the best servers they have!! somehow we always have leftovers

The steak tacos were awesorestaurant restaurant, super clean and friendly atmosphere. My waiter Javier was the best.
