Air Maui Helicopter Tours

Absolutely life changing! I did the tour where we landed on North Maui, and explored the huge sea cliffs and waterfalls of Molokai. Seeing parts of Maui (in my opinion the most beautiful and stunning parts) that cannot be accessed any other way was awesome. Landing and seeing the helicopter in a private and beautiful place was awesome, but taking off just above the water and seeing the massive volcanic tower above you and to the side was really cool, so I definitely recommend that tour.

Now I just need to go back to Maui to try the doors off tour!

This was not my first time on a helicopter, but you could tell the pilot was incredibly skilled and knowledgeable. The music playlist he had fit the various types of scenery, and really made the experience special. If you are going to splurge on a helicopter trip, I can’t think of a better place to do it.

Fabulous!! Best on Maui. Toured Sept 18 and 19, 2023. Saw so many natural wonders that could NEVER be seen any other way than by helicopter. KIM was super super easy and flexible to work with. When weather grounded our flight she immediately offered up an alternative, which was great! The experience with Cameron as our pilot was wonderful. Very knowledgeable. His commentary was on point. Bought the photo video combo so we can visit his "office view" and hear his comical stories. Well worth the add on and so were the premium from row seats. Chopper seats 4 in row 2 and 2 plus the pilot in the front. We bought whole island tour but out of respect for Lahaina families and due to bad weather in Hana area we did West Maui over to Molokai. The experience was so great that before we left the office we booked for another tour the following day. Haleakala, Road to Hana and the East End. Same pilot and same great experience, just with different sights. If you leave Maui without flying with Air Maui... you've missed the very best part of the natural paradise that is the Valley Island! 100% recommend!! Pay for parking as you enter the heliport. The machine is fickle. Hang in there it does work!

Talk about beauty and exhilaration! Sitting in the open door of a helicopter flying over the highest seaside cliffs in the world and tallest waterfalls in the U.S. was amazing! Richie was a great pilot and narrator (despite his grandpa jokes!)

Stunning views, and an amazing adventure. Everyone is kind enough but not real personable. The crew is professional and runs a tight ship. You get on and get off. Not a lot of time to talk about what you saw, debrief or ask questions because they have another group ready to go. It was challenging to hear the pilot during the flight and the media package I paid for is glitchy and freezes or skips during playback, so I may not recommend that additional expense. Over all, an experience like no other and saw places I’d not normally get to experience.

I had an incredible time! I did the doors off tour of West Maui and Molokai. My pilot was Richie and he was a funny and thoughtful guy. The helicopter ride itself was smooth. It's hard to describe the feeling that you get seeing the islands in the air; it's something you'd have to experience for yourself to really understand. The waiting room was nice too, and the staff were very friendly. The ride was such an amazing experience and my only complaint is that I didn't have time to do the other tours they offered!

Had so much fun on the Doors Off tour with our pilot Drew. He made the trip so much fun and he was so knowledgeable about so many spots on Maui, Molokai, and Lanai. My husband and k paid extra for the front seats and it was definitely worth it. Keep some cash on hand as you are able to buy a video of your trip as well as a photo if you want. Great experience!!

Professional, fun loving, fantastic. Probably the best helicopter ride I've been on, stunning views and great fun. Recommend the doors off ride for the ultimate in viewing pleasure (but you can only take a phone) - if you don't like wind and/or want to use a camera, go for doors on.

Air Maui helicopter tour was one of our very favorite things we did in Maui besides skydiving in Hana. It was incredible & so beautiful definitely a must do & a great new perspective of Maui! We did it for my dad’s birthday while on our trip to Maui & he loved it! My mom loved it as well & she is very afraid of flying so we were all very surprised at how much she loved it & how well she did! If you’re visiting Maui you HAVE to do it & Air Maui is the best one I found & the most affordable as well!

I loved every minute of this! The staff at check in is so lovely and kind. Dylan was the pilot and he was great. Very calming voice. Also was a fan of the music playlist they curated for the ride. Highly recommend the doors off, it's seriously amazing. The ride was so smooth.

Some tips:
- girls, they tell you to tie your hair in a tight bun and boy are they right! If you're doing the doors off and sitting in the second row it gets windy. I've never experienced wind that high before. My shoelaces came undone twice!
- no need to bring a jacket because they provide a windbreaker that is pretty warm
- I personally felt like the media package at the end wasn't worth it. Maybe they need to update the videography because phones nowadays can take better videos.
- just do it!!! I don't want to share videos of going near the mountains because I don't want to spoil it. It was breathtaking and emotional

My husband and I did the doors off west Maui and Molokai 45 min tour and it was amazing! The sights from the helicopter were breathtaking and being able to hover in front of the waterfalls felt surreal. I personally think the best spots on the helicopter aren’t the front seats but the seats on the side where the doors would normally be. It is quite windy with the doors off but you are given goggles (looks like ski goggles) and a cute black jacket for the ride and that kept me warm. Also everyone that works there were so kind and funny. We will be referring all of our friends and family here and will be coming back for even longer flights, doors off of course! :)

We did the doors-on 45 minute tour of west Maui and Molokai. Our captain was great and very knowledgeable. He had curated music based on the tour. He did a great job making sure everyone on the flight was addressed and was able to see all the amazing sights. He took us on a wonderful journey and taught us a lot.
I think it's worth spending the extra to get front view, my husband sat in the back with our younger child but still enjoyed all the views, though.

I wouldn't say it's a must do for Maui but if you have the ability to do a tour, it's a very cool experience with beautiful sights!

I liked that they were not pushy and buying videos or pictures. Even tipping the captain was very optional and discrete and you could do it via Venmo.

Awesome experience. This is the only way to see the waterfalls of West Maui! We went with the "Doors Off" option. Richie was a great pilot and provide knowledgeable and informative commentary. Super friendly staff working inside the office. I would highly recommend!!

Absolutely phenomenal experience. Captain Cameron was witty and very knowledgeable, not to mention one heck of a good pilot. The ride was as smooth as glass, and his route was very efficient, which allowed us time to see multiple awe-inspiring sites.
Do not come to maui without planning for this in your itinerary. Views like nowhere else on the planet!

I took the doors off tour and it was great!!! They take you to the west side of Maui and to the island of Molokai. There you will witness amazing scenery including waterfalls, some of which are only accessible by helicopter! Our tour guide was wonderful and knowledgeable. The headset they give you also plays Hawaiian music which adds to the serenity of the experience.

A once-in-a-lifetime experience for sure! All I can say is wow! The tour is incredible. Our pilot Drew was incredible. His playlist was incredible. The views were incredible. I can’t recommend this experience enough. If you have any hesitations whatsoever, just do it. You won’t be disappointed!

Highly recommend Air Maui for your tour needs. We opted for the doors off tour. It was an amazing experience that everyone should at least do it once. The staff were so nice and our pilot was extremely knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. We loved the tour so much and were able to see the valleys and waterfalls in places that people can’t get to by feet. Those views were incredible and breathtakingly beautiful. The booking process was simple as well. I recommend booking from their website. We tried to book for the morning tour but were contacted by the staff to move it to the afternoon since there was no morning available. I was thankful that the staff offered to move it instead of forcing us to do the doors on tour. We also chose the front seats and paid an extra $100 for those seats. Well worth it! Wouldn’t do it any other ways.

The Helicopter tour was one of the highlights of our 9 day vacation in Maui. We were able to see so much high up in the sky. We took so many photos of the beautiful island of Maui. Our pilot Cameron was so informative and shared so much history of the island. We saw so much greenery, waterfalls, and many of the different shorelines of the different cities. We even saw the Blowhole from high above which we also saw close up when we drove there the day before. The entire staff was very friendly. We decided on a spur of the moment to book a tour near the end of our vacation and got lucky that they had an opening for us. It was a one hour tour which was plentiful but when we return to Maui, we want to book the longer tour. We highly recommend this company. There's a reason they have the most reviews with high ratings on Google reviews. This company is awesome!! Book them for your tour, you won't regret it. And, don't forget to tip your pilot.
