Kanaha Beach Park

Great lowkey beach. Awesome for kite surfing and really calm waters. Also there are a couple of spots just a walk down to the left for families. Really lowkey shaded area and calm waters for the youngster to play in. Highly recommend for a quick pit stop and a quick swim. Tables and benches are limited but it’s not overly crowded. Automatic!

Loved it. Saw man with his squid and another man fishing while his daughter played. And the sunset was amazing.

Perfect park/beach to hangout before our afternoon flight. We drove from Lahaina and wanted a place to chill before the airport madness. Really cool watching all the windsurfing! Also, plenty of shade/trees. There’s plenty of free parking and you’re <2miles from the airport.

A pleasant secluded park right next to the airport. When I first saw it on Maps, I thought cool, maybe I can walk there. No. It is next to the cargo terminals of the airport and separated by woods.

It took about a little under five minutes by cat to get there. Once you get there it is very nice. I visited there around at nine on a Thursday, so it was quiet with very few visitors ( saw five persons total) and saw some parasailing in the distances.

The distance from the parking lot (medium sized) to the beach itself is about 40-50 yds. You will have to cross some uneven terrain, but there are some atv paths you can follow if the soil isn't too muddy.

Surf is very nice and to the left you get a nice view of a valley see XD. Sand is ok with average fineness, with some wood detritus and seaweed strewn about. The smell was not bad, as there is a constant breeze present. Water was clear with some turbidity expected from the shore.

Restrooms are across the parking lot and are not the cleanest, but they are useable.

You will see wild cats prowling around.

The best place to kite and also find 100 year old sea turtles chillin' in the sun on the beach!

Spacious and beautiful, this beach park has sprawling lawns, an abundance of shade, picnic tables, fresh water spickets, soft sand, accented with short lava rock clusters. Though there are picturesque lava rocks, there is plenty of beach for play. Located about three minutes from the airport, it is a hidden gem.

Beautiful and secluded beach perfect to spend a few hours during a long layover or in between flights. Only a 10-15 minute walk from the airport, yet not crowded and plenty of sun & shady space to enjoy. It can be windy at times and known to be a good wind surfing spot.

Absolutely beautiful beach and when all the wind sufers came it was a sight to see. Don't miss this beach. If your on a cruise it's a 10 dollar ride to get here and worth it.

A great place to spend some spare time before getting on a flight, a nice tan colored sand that's pretty soft. Great spot, not many people crowding it.

A small but very nice beach in Maui Island. Is located near to the airport, perfect for kitesurfing. Not very crowded, and also you can find here restrooms and showers. Sand is ok, and there is also a lifeguard on duty.

Perfect beach for windsurfing, with consistent wind 20 kts. It’s forgiving for people with limited skills as wind/waves push you back to shore, but waves do make it challenging for very first lesson (I have been told harbor would be better for first time lessons).
The sand become rock/coral very quickly and stays shallow (waist deep quite far out), so I found water shoes important.
There was a shower and hose to clean off gear afterward

Nice beach where you can see lots of people doing beach activities like surfing. It was nice to see. There’s parking, trees to sit under them, volleyball space to play, barbecues and so on!

Absolutely gorgeous stretch of sandy beach, just outside the airport so you can see planes landing and taking off. Not too loud though! When we went on a Monday morning, there were literally only six people there on the entire beach. The area is also well shaded with lots of amenities like washrooms, changerooms, and showers.

An excellent beach close to the cruise port!

A beautiful beach 5 minutes from the airport. It has bathrooms and lifeguard. It's usually not very busy and the days we went the water was calm had a great swim. Definitely recommend it!

Always nice to go here. Kite surfers start at 11 am. But if you want a nice calm beach to walk along this is good.

We found a table with a view of the water and ate our lunch before catching a flight. It was really fun to watch the kite surfers. Fantastic way to end our Hawaiian vacation.

This stop was made during our 5 hour layover. The view while eating white pineapple and pink papaya I brought from Kona was memorable. There was plenty of shade to set our luggage and bags down. We also saw turtles, crabs and an octopus!
