The owner or shopkeeper was very friendly and helpful. A lot of what they sell is stuff from Costco, but they also have some interesting shirts, a few items like local honey, and souvenirs. Last place to stop and get stuff before Kipahulu, unless you're planning to go to Hana.

Her prices our good considering where her store is.
I biked around the island and along the way whoever I questioned about trails to the crater, referred me to her. It was like fictional stories: ask the shop keeper

I went there by accident as we were trying to find a short cut back to the airport and catch our flights on time as well as return our rental cars. Suddently here was Kaupo General Store!! There is much more -- we had gone to their wedding the day before on the other side of Maui. We are related!! We didn't know that was their store. At the time she was this beautiful hippy girl and Manny our local relative. lol. They took us to their home a short distance away and yes they live off the grid. We almost didn't catch our flight.

Opened in 1925, the store sold everything you might need in this remote corner of the world. I found it quite interesting, and promised the cat on the porch that I'll come back, but failed in 2 other years, as there were road blocks...

Adventure in Maui, the only word for this way is amazing. Super Spot in Maui. The Kaupo Store is a nice place for a quick stop and a drink. See you again.
