Great little beach with shallow water with a lava rock wall around the water area that creates a little sanctuary for sea turtles. Lots of turtles swim in to sun themselves and rest, safe from sharks. Fun to bring kids and see several turtles. Best time is usually around sunset. You'll see close to a dozen usually. Just make sure and stay 20 feet away from them.

The beach is a bit busy depending on the time of day, and the tide definitely moves super fast in the evening, so be mindful of the waves. Would recommend checking out the centuries old fish pond being rebuilt on one edge of the beach by a local pond warden. Stay off the rocks and at least 20 feet back at all times as the rocks and turtles are protected. Green sea turtles nest and sleep among the rocks to stay protected from predators, so please leave them alone.

It's a secluded spot off the main streets of Kihei, and if you go to the beach in front of the park early in the morning, you can see sea turtle nesting marks and turtles.

If you're here at sunset, you'll also be treated to a really beautiful sunset.

Kite surfing, beached boat, free museum, cold showers, horseshoes, turtles...Great fun.

Maui Fish Pond is great for the little ones. Pro Tip- arrive early, 5:30am or so to see the march of the Maui Sea Turtles. Do not get too close. They are protected and you can get major fines and in big trouble for going near them. There are also volunteers who check on them throughout the day. So, don't even try it.

Go for sunset, stay for the twilight hour. Usually better than the sunset itself (check the photos for proof).

Come see turtles here! The beach is secluded and turtles come to hang out on the rocks and nearby beach. The water is shallow, great for kids to play, and you can walk up close to rocks to see turtles. All free, no need to pay for a tour or anything, just walk up and see big turtles hanging out by the rocks. Especially if you come in the evening when it gets dark, one night we counted over 40 of them. Just make sure to keep your distance and not bother them.

My favorite place in Maui. Turtles galore, no waves. Perfect for those who can't snorkel but want to see turtles in their natural habitat for free.

Nice place very close to where we stayed. Definitely great place to visit throughout the day. There are bathrooms nearby as well as benches and bbq pits. It's beautiful early in the morning as the sun rises. The parking can get a little too crowded but they have a decent number of parking spots.

I came here on my last morning in Maui, in hopes to see sea turtles. Guess what? My wish came true! There was several cute sea turtles soaking up the sun. Also there was not a lot of people, very chill and quiet beach. Everyone was very respectful, keeping their distance from the sea turtles to give them space.

Beautiful small little beach. Perfect for children because the waves are small. There is a rock wall that creates calm waters. Turtles sleep on the beach and you can watch them return to the ocean every morning.

This is one of my favorite beaches to go to because of turtles. If you want to see some turtles this is where to go. We brought a camera too to have some fun with because of the turtles. The last day we were there we saw at least 6 different turtles, maybe more. If you want to snorkel to see the turtles, the rock wall prevents waves from coming in and makes it easy for you to snorkel. This is also a perfect kid beach because of the lack of waves too. After you are done searching for turtles, you can relax on the beach and watch the sunset too. If you look close enough, you may even see some whales in the distance.

A beautiful spot. Calm waters for both kids and turtles. We came here about 4pm and saw about 7 different turtles relaxing along the Rock wall. The water was probably 1 to 2 ft deep in most areas.

A historic and restful spot on the south side of Maui. Unfortunately, the adjacent Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary Visitor Center was closed due to COVID but there was a lot of great interpretive signage to read and give some context to this former site of the King's fish pond.

Gorgeous sunset views with sea turtles beached on the rocks. Whale sitings from this spot, and a rocked off area shallow enough for small children to enjoy the ocean.

This is the perfect place for babies and small kids. Thanks to the stone barrier there's shallow water and no waves, and you can see plenty of small fish or some sea turtles if you're patient. Not a good beach for anything else, however. It's very small, not too picturesque, one portable toilet and only a few parking spots.

We were staying very close to this park. Went there for a early morning stroll and saw a bunch of turtles. You have to go quite early to see them though

I wish I had found this beach sooner! I have two kiddos who aren't the strongest of swimmers. This beach is PERFECT. The rock wall surrounding the beach allows the natural waves as the tide rises, and offers kids the chance to learn how to maneuver waves in a safer environment. We didn't see turtles, but hear they frequent this beach. Locals call this a "baby beach". I call it a perfect beach for parents with kids who aren't ready for drops-offs, and rip currents.
