Acevedo's Hawaicano Cafe

Easy place to grab a quick bite, with outdoor seating. I ordered two Pork Carnitas tacos with beans and rice. The food lives up to the name, the beans and rice reminded me of Hawaii more than Mexico with their taste and texture. The tacos were very filling, meat cooked exactly how you want it with a few crispy parts, the aioli is so flavorful, they give a salsa that is perfect for the cabbage onion and cilantro topping. Very good.

I got the Garlic Shrimp, Husband got the Carnitas Nachos, 8 year old son got the Quesadilla, and 12 year old got the side of rice a beans. Absolutely loved it, off the path a bit but so great, and the nicest sweetest hostess helped us. Would go again!

I really enjoy finding out of the way places to eat, made to order, real food from owners and employees who really enjoy what they do.
I went alone and ordered Ceviche. It was delicious, fresh and beautifully done.
There are a few tables inside but more outside. Not even close to fine dining BUT we’ll worth trying for the fun ambience.
I loved watching the enthusiasm and genuine care given to every customer coming through the door, even the delivery of your food and checking back to make sure everything is okay.
I will definitely return and have already recommended to several friends!

This place is great! The food tastes so good. The staff are friendly, the portions are huge, and the prices were significantly lower than everywhere else we went in Maui.

Wonderful little place off the beaten path. Found while waiting for our flight home and very glad we did. Had the garlic shrimp plate and it was delicious.

Aloha, everyone. This restaurant offers a good variety of Mexican food choices and they're all delicious, I've eaten most of them. Lol. They cook everything fresh daily.
The shrimp ceviche on a crispy tostada is very good. The taste of shrimp and seafood with added sauce on top is light and delicious, makes for a nice light lunch item. The other taco is an Asada taco served on warm corn tortillas with cabbage and cilantro, equally delicious. This is real down home Mexican food, I think the best on the island. I like how the hot sauces that are offered have a nice heat to them. There are other tacos I've tried, so far everything is very good and tasty. You get a good amount of delicious cooked meat for your money. Any item can be made into a plate lunch by adding rice and beans, this is extra $ though. The rice and beans are very good, beans have a bit of cheese on top when served. Yum. Menudo is offered sometimes, best to call and check if available. The coconut flan is new, along with the other desserts they offer. They also sell banana bread 🍞. There's outdoor community seating and to go, (take away) and you can place your order online. Orlando Acevedo just branched out with a brand new Acevedo's Hawaiicano Food truck. It'll be up and around after the new year, so be looking for it around the island. These people are more than happy to customize your order to your liking. They only sell bottled soft drinks and water, no alcohol. I just always take a 🍺 beer, makes the food taste even better. Lol. So, if your looking for great Mexican food this is it! Maybe I'll see you there, cause I eat there a lot. 😋 Yummm

Wow! So glad we found this place, it was so good! Fish tacos were amazing, but I have to say I was most impressed with the Chile Verde tacos…best I’ve ever had. This place is legit, cannot recommend it more. Do yourself a favor and make sure to check this out, you will not be disappointed.

Everything was truly terrific. This little local restaurant has a great family feel and the employees seem to really care about their product. We found this place on accident and we’re so glad we did. The burritos were outrageously good and the flan was so fresh and you could tell it was made with love. We’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

First rate shrimp burrito... Seated outside under shade tree. Locals know this place for lunch... Hardly a tourist in sight.

Our first stop in Maui after landing. The fish tacos, rice and beans and guacamole/chips were awesome. Fast, friendly service. We took burritos to go for later. Glad we skipped eating at the airports and waited for this. Five minute drive from the airport. Definitely recommend!

Best Mexican food I’ve had. The people serving were very helpful and food came out very fast. Highly recommend, never been to a Mexican place quite like this.

Talk about service with a smile ! The owner is friendly and the food is awesome. Fresh veggies , soft chicken , big portions. I got the fish taco, shrimp taco and the chicken burrito . Outdoor seating in the Hawaiian breeze with good music in the background comes complimentary.

It’s around the corner from the airport, the food is good not great but good for a quick bite, in my honest opinion the taco was better than the fries. A must try just so you can get it out your system. If you from California then you will not be impressed but if you from anywhere else you will enjoy.

I am eating a shrimp burrito plate wet with green sauce, it’s the best I ever had! Big juicy shrimp, with a green sauce that has just the right amount of spicy heat. DELICIOUS! Highly recommend Acevedo’s!

Great food with a convenient location near the airport! My wife and I had to stop twice during our week in Maui. We loved the Chile Verde plate and every taco we tried!
