Habibi On Maui

One of the best little eateries on Maui... beautiful fresh salads and some exotic flavoursome middle eastern food all in a chilled setting with friendly staff and great service. I always go there a few times on every visit to Maui. Highly recommended.

My wife and I had an amazing meal here. Everything was prepared fresh and the garden setting was very relaxing. We checked multiple places in the area for a celiac safe gluten free meal and this was the winner. They were knowledgeable and cared about our dining experience. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely be going. The fries alone are worth a trip to Maui!

So good and unexpected. We ordered a veggie plate and cauliflower shawarma. The cauliflower was grilled to perfection. Hummus was fresh and pita was warm. Kids also gave two thumbs up which means “good!”

My partner and I were visiting the area and needed a place to eat/relax while we waited for a bus. So we decided on this place because we've been on a Mediterranean kick recently. Out of all the Mediterranean places we have been to thus far, this has been my favorite. The portions are generous and everything on the plate is fresh and full of flavor. We were also able to relax at the restaurant for a couple of hours and enjoyed the atmosphere/nicely shaded areas. I actually had to put on a sweater—outside!

Delicious home cooked food. Everything tasted amazing and is made from scratch. The clearly love what they do. Friendly happy owners. Happy to support them. Must try if you’re hungry in the area!

The Zaatar & Al Souq plate are incredible. Try out the latter to get a wide sampling of tastes. I’ve eaten at middle eastern and Lebanese places since the dawn of time, in the very countries that invented the stuff to Europe and all over NA..

Habibi’s is very, very good! Top 5 good. Fresh & memorable, while still classic & comfortable. Thanks for the great meal!

It is located at the main street at the historic town of Makawao and it looks like it is the only place in Makawao you can sit outside in a beautiful garden setting.

Delicious change of pace when in Maui! We hiked in the Makawao Forest Reserve and came here after. Everything was flavorful and filling. The hummus was amazing.

Makawao holds its weight in uniqueness and this restaurant is no exception. Right on the main road going through makawao, Habibi does it right with its exceptional range of middle eastern quisine that clenches the palate nicely. We got the vegetarian platter with the spicy fries. Everything was great! Highly recommended.

Delicious, fresh, healthy, moderately priced food. Good deal for Maui. Will return.

Truly an amazing place. The customer service is the best I have received on the island, the girl on the counter it’s so sweet and helpful, with great suggestions. The food was so delicious, so fresh and just a different taste to the palate. Just wonderful. Loved that they have halal lamb. My daughters favorite was the rose water lemonade. Thank you for this amazing food and hospitality.

This place is great! Skip the overpriced, mediocre restaurants elsewhere and go here. (Admittedly, I live in a town where food is outstanding so I am kind of choosy) The food here is flavorful and creative, what a nice addition to Makawao. Clearly they know what they’re doing. We brought cold beer which we enjoyed with our meal before heading to the airport to catch our flight back to freezing Chicago. We will definitely return and wish them much success.

Intimate outdoor garden seating. Mom and pop shop with very friendly owners and staff. Shawarma wrap was very tasty and the rice was moist, but the most unique thing I tasted was the curry salad dressing which was very tasty. Definitely a excellent choice to eat for lunch when on the way to/from the mountain.

Hidden gem. Great food, great taste, right portion size and outdoor seating. Cannot ask for a better lunch stop when you are in the area. Loved the spices taste in the rice, salad, falafel. DO NOT MISS their garlic sauce.

Great food, lots of delicious flavors! Staff was helpful, polite and prompt! Good sized portions, variety of choices, lamb was incredible! Everything was fresh and veggies were crisp! Definitely would go back!

Really delicious trendy middle Eastern cuisine. So glad we could find a halal place in Maui because it's been almost a week of just seafood! The lamb is halal and was cooked perfectly. Absolutely loved the freshness and taste of the food and friendly server.

The vibe I get here doesn't scream middle eastern restaurant but a fusion of Hawaiian, relaxed atmosphere in this restaurant that sells middle eastern inspired food. Might come here again for dinner before we head out to the next island!

I've been eating here since it was a food cart and it just keeps getting better! Always creative and an ever expanding menu, service with a smile and a refreshing take on Mediterranean fare. One of my Maui favorites. Highly recommend this place to locals and visitors alike.

Pretty flavorful food but not the best lamb shawarma I've ever had. I should have had the chicken or falafel. The tzaziki was super garlicy but I liked that part. The pita got soggy super quickly so I should have had the plate instead. Always delicious. The best falafel on Maui!Great place to eat when upcountry. The outside seating gives it extra charm.

Amazing meditation food, with a great selection of teas and kombucha, nestled in a beautiful garden setting. All of the food was fresh and served really quickly. Try as many of the sauces and appetizers as you can! Outdoor only seating so no a/c but it's still cool and comfortable in the shaded seating.

Incredible place. Great atmosphere in this open-air haven of fantastic fare. The staff was extremely nice and welcoming to not only myself but also from what I saw and overheard to everyone else that walked in. And the shawarma was perfection! Can't wait to get back there and try the rest of the menu.
