Thrifty Car Rental

I’ve now rented a car from thrifty twice in Maui. Always get great service and good deals. I want to especially thank PJ at the front desk for being so welcoming and kind. He upgraded us to a sports car! Thank you thrifty!!!

We had an issue with our first car and everyone was super helpful in accommodating us with a new car ensuring great customer service. We appreciated the attention to detail from the staff both inside the office and outside of the office and it has kept us happy renting as a Thrifty customer.

The experience was great, car was handed in smoothly, you got to pick up any car from the row you are assigned to. Returning was flawless as well, very fast and professional. I don't know what do people complain about. Also the car was 2021 Nissan Sentra, quite smart and I loved to drive it. Thanks Hertz Thrifty and also to website Discount Hawaii Car Rental

Very quick and efficient, sometimes the tram takes too long to arrive so you might find it faster to walk with your luggage to car rental station then waiting, we beat the car pick up line up by being ahead of the tram this way.

We pre-booked a compact car and they told us to take any car parked in lane three in parkade, attendants will write which lane you pick up the car from in the airport parkade, first come first serve, after you check in inside at thrifty/dollar kiosk.

It was awesome because there was a small SUV parked there, we were able to take it and still got charged compact rate. Vehicle only one year old, nice and new, I rented from other rental spots in Maui where vehicle was older and broke down on us.

Would do thrifty again, just be prepared if you pre-booked online by a third party, there are extra fees like concession fee, Hawaii license fee, etc that are additional and aren't always caught in the total booking cost, so you might end up paying more than you thought. Still worth it though, cruising in Hawaii with a car is so nice. Be careful with Feb Maui windstorms though, lots of branches falling off trees and hitting cars, we saw some significant ones fall, be sure to have proper insurance.

First I'd like to ask all the bad reviewers if this was the Ogg Thriftys? Cause wow, my experience was as pleasant as it gets! No upsale, just a simple yep and no answers and off I went. Was 20 mins in line, but there was 2 or 3 flights landed at the same time. No biggie. Once up it was less than 5 mins and we were roarin off in our Camaro ss....nice!

We had a great experience with Thrifty Car Rental. I booked a Jeep early through Travelocity and we had no problems at all. Got to the Jeep aisle and they let me pick from over 8 different ones. Our Jeep was a 2020 with backup camera and was very nice! The top over the driver and passenger comes off very easily and it will fit in the trunk (2 pieces). All the Jeep’s were 4 doors and hold up to 5 people. I would encourage people to book well in advance as prices go up drastically the closer you get to your trip date. I read some other reviews that people did not have great experiences but it seemed like they were trying to make last minute changes and maybe that’s why?? I didn’t try and change anything, just booked and got what I had reserved.

I don't think I've had a 5-star car service in a very very very long time!!! There was no line to rent which was awesome!!! We came almost 3 hours early and the car was ready and waiting. Really incredible service!

Hats off to Alika! What an awesome guy! He took care of us when we rented our car. He was knowledgeable, polite, and courteous. Had a great conversation with him. We were happy we met him.
If you go through his service, he will take care of you!

My flight was delayed from arriving at 8pm to arriving at 1:20am. Thrifty is supposed to close at 11pm. They stayed open to make sure people weren't stuck at the airport. Thrifty wasn't the only one open, but some others were already closed and gone.

That alone made my night, but everything else went great too.

We were just getting a 4 door Sedan and they surprised us with this very exciting and fun to drive

Excellent customer service and not a long 2ait time to pick up our rental. Big surprise some how my husband and I won the mystery car for the day. Instead of the economical small car I reserved, we received a CONVERTIBLE MUSTANG...Woo-hoo, same prize! A gift from God!

We were very satisfied with our Rental car from Trifty. A short wait and we received a pretty good price ($236 for 8 days) for a car rental in Maui.

Check in and checking out were both completely painless. I even got a nice upgrade because they didn't have my car ready. Wish more car rental facilities were this nice to deal with.

Good location right at the airport. Very attentive and friendly staff Jessie. Unfortunately they didn't have a 4 door jeep and despite then saying we'd all fit in the mid size SUV; we don't. #4-tall-people!

We didn't leave the airport and they were kind enough to take the vehicle back in.

So all the car rentals right now in HI are expensive but this seemed to be the least expensive at the time we rented our car. Unfortunately, we accidentally booked a car on the wrong island. Thankfully the woman who helped us was able to find us a car that was equitable to the one we reserved on the other island. The car was economical and got us where we needed to go comfortably. I would definitely use this company again.

The staff was wonderful. Great car selection, but make sure you look over the vehicle before leaving the building for outside paint damage and knicks.

I was really nervous about picking up the car rental based on the comments, but it was very smooth for us. We arrived at 9:30pm and it was a fifteen minutes wait to register for the car. We said no to upgrade, insurance (since we had credit card coverage), and prefilled tank. It was exactly what we paid for online. Kirk was very helpful and provided great service! In total, it took us 30 Minutes to register, get the car and leave the airport! The rental place is an 8 minute walk from the arrival departure or you can take the 1 minute shuttle ride. It’s literally down the street.

I booked a 2 door Jeep Wrangler through thrifty from 12/19/17 - 1/5/18. Around an 18 day rental. My plane landed around 5:30pm Maui time. When I arrived, I immediately went to the shuttle to take it to their rental location while my fiance grabbed the 2 suitcases at baggage claim. It was just myself and one other family on the bus, and eventually the only 2 in the building renting a vehicle. Needless to say, it was nowhere near the line people seem to be complaining about on here. The process was extremely quick and painless, and the people working the counter were extremely nice and polite.

When they handed me the key I was surprised to see that it was a new 4 door Wrangler. I almost turned around and asked to get a 2 door, but glad I didn't. We wanted the 2 door for the soft top, but the 4 door had removable panels in the front (t-top) which were very easy to take off and put on. The extra room in the back was much needed for our luggage and Costco supplies. It was extremely clean and had only 10k miles on it. Still smelled brand new. There was no hidden fee for the 4 door over the 2 door.

We went on vacation with 34 family members and friends. All of us made rental reservations in February. We were the only ones to rent with Thrifty. Everyone else went through Budget for their Wrangler. There were 4 parties that I am aware of who had an issue with their rental. They either got the completely wrong vehicle than what they reserved, or it was a 2 door instead of a 4 door.

Everything about our rental was perfect and it was also almost half the price as what everyone else paid at Budget.

Couldn't have been more pleased! We will be renting with Thrifty again in 3 years when our entire group makes the trip again. I will be suggesting to everyone to go through Thrifty next time. Well done!
