Had a great stay here! Right across from the market store and perfect distance to town. Lovely front yard with plenty of room to sit and relax or hang out in the shade of the Breadfruit tree. Naomi and John gave us good advice about town and local beaches and the stay was excellent overall. Aloha!

We stayed at the Kuau Inn in August of 2013 and enjoyed it immensely. We had one of the upstairs bedrooms and enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the place. It was nice to have a full kitchen at our disposal and fresh goodies provided for us in the fridge every day. The staff were not intrusive and we almost had the house to ourselves for the full three days. The geckos and insects are nothing if not entertaining during a nice relaxing visit outside. And my wife will forever miss the available outdoor showers which made the stay that much better. We will hopefully be back someday to enjoy the place all over again.

The Ku'au Inn was a great stop before we took the road to Hana. The innkeeper was super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast options were extensive and of good quality. The bedroom was clean and relatively spacious. We particularly liked the outdoor shower and the machines available to do laundry. While the distance to Paia is walkable, the lack of sidewalks for the first quarter mile or so make this a little sketchy at night.

We were in Room 5, on the ground floor. We liked this room because of its proximity to the two bathrooms on the ground floor. However, it is also right next to the kitchen, so you may have some noise from those waking up at 3 am to see the sunrise. Room 5 does not have AC. However, despite the temperatures being in the high 80s and humid, with the windows open and the fan on, we stayed pretty cool throughout the night in our bedroom. AC is obviously nice, but the value to price ratio here makes it totally worth it if you are cost-conscious. All that said, we would definitely stay here again, and probably for several days based on the excellent location.

I spent 3 nights at the Kuau Inn with my brother. First of all the Bed & Breakfast is situated in a prime location, being only two blocks from the beach and minutes from Paia. Secondly, Ryan and Hailey - the Inn-Keepers - were awesome. They provided all the necessary amenities and the fridge was always stocked with food for breakfast, including fresh fruit, bagels, eggs and toast. You can tell they put in a lot of work to make the place look nice and do their best to ensure that all guests are accommodated. Thirdly, I wanted to touch on the quality of the house and rooms. The house is nicely decorated with a variety of local art and has great amenities including outdoor showers, and a huge kitchen. We had a chance to check out a few of the rooms, all of which were accommodating in their own way. We stayed in the doubles room downstairs; the beds were very comfortable, there was lots of closet space, and huge windows that let a nice Hawaiian breeze run through the room. If you plan on visiting Maui and are looking for quality and affordability, I definitely recommend staying at the Kuau Inn!

Comfortable and charming! The caretakers were very helpful with their vast knowledge of the island. There was always a variety of tasty food available and our room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The outdoor showers were also a lovely touch.

Suuuper-helpful staff! That's what bumped this up from 4 stars to 5 stars... they were so accommodating. Lovely spot, close to beaches and the airport. For those who aren't couch potatoes, it's within reasonable walking distance of Paia, which is a charming town with amazing food. (Visit Mana Foods!) I hesitated to book there because of the shared bathroom. It was not an issue at all, though! Clean, never once a wait during the several days my husband and I stayed there even though the place was booked up. The breakfast was tasty and included a good variety of options.

Ku'au Inn is a magical place to stay when visiting Maui. We had fresh fruits available to us for breakfast and loving suggestions when we wanted to venture out to see the surrounding areas. We were in town for a wedding and ended up staying longer... I still miss the outdoor shower and sound of the sugar cane whispering with the wind each night. I would recommend this place to my dearest friends and family. A truly lovely experience!

Great bed and breakfast near the airport on the way to Hana. The host was very nice. We had the house to ourselves while we were though so noise was not an issue. Would definetely to back. Technically walkable to town but there are no sidewalks.

Great little B&B. Nice breeze thru the rooms at night. Recommend using the outside shower room. Lots of easy parking on site. Wifi was marginal. Lindsay who lives on site is very sweet and helpful. Breakfast is self serve and cook.

I’ve stayed here twice. The owners and caretaker are awesome. Very responsive. This is the only place I’d stay in Maui. Such an old Hawaii dream!
