I'd give these hard working professionals a six it it was an option. What an experience. I dislocated my elbow, was in a lot of pain, and they did well to get me into an ER bed pretty quickly, despite how busy an evening it was. Love the welcome at the door. Despite being a tourist from out of country! Reception, triage all handled well. Got me fixed up and out the door. Wish our hospital home system did this well!

We are from St. Louis visiting here. My 74 year old husband fell while he was on his morning walk. He had a head wound. The hospital was very cautious and did a CT scan. We were very impressed with the professionalism.

Amazing cardiac care. My father was airlifted here from Kona with a heart attack. They saved his life. We will be forever grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff here.

The ICU care was absolutely fantastic, and every single interaction we have had with staff is outstanding.

This isn't where or how I wanted to spend Christmas, but it has been an amazing experience.

I recently went to the ER for a ruptured appendix. I cannot express enough how thankful I am to the ER team, the team that handled my surgery, and the aftercare nurse's during my stay. Big Mahalo's to you all!

As visitors from out of state, pregnant with our first child, we could not have felt more welcome and professionally cared for during a visit to the ER over concerns of dehydration and travel fatigue. The staff is amazing, attentive, articulate, and thorough. We especially appreciated the sonographer, Laney, who was so thoughtful and provided us with the most informative ultrasound we’ve received through our entire pregnancy.

My family and I recently vacationed in Maui. A day after arriving, I found myself in the ER (brought by ambulance) with severe abdominal pain. I was ultimately diagnosed with a perforated bowel and was hospitalized for 5 days. I felt very well cared for from the moment I entered the ER. There were multiple nurses attending to me and tests/results seemed to move rather quickly. My diagnosis usually requires surgery, however, the surgeon, Dr. Hamzeh, discussed all of my options with me, and I decided on conservative management (IV antibiotics and monitoring). My hope was to stabilize and return home for any required surgery. I was very impressed that Dr. Hamzeh took the time to explain my options in detail and to allow me to be a part of the decision making process. I was again well cared for once I was admitted to the third floor. The nurses were all very genuine and quick to respond to my needs as a patient. I was also assigned to a case manager (thank you, Phil Velasco, RN!) to make sure that I had all of my records before leaving the hospital. Such a small gesture that saves so much time for the patients. I have zero complaints about Maui Memorial Medical Center. Thank you to all who cared for me during my time in need...Drs. Cho, Hamzeh and Novoselsky, nurses Ariel, Faith and Emmett (and others I'm forgetting, sorry) and all of the nurses aides. You are all wonderful!

Our daughter broke her arm while on vacation. We rushed her to MMC where they performed emergency surgery due to the nature of the break (and the fact that we had a 10 hour flight ahead of us).

Everyone, and I mean, everyone, from the security guards when we pulled up to the ER, to the utterly amazing nurses and CNAs, the surgeon and PA, even the folks in the Records Department.....everyone was amazing!

Can't thank them enough, fantastic team! They should be very proud, exactly what medicine should be!

On our recent visit to Maui our adult son suffered a stroke on the first day of our arrival including loss of use of his left hand and fingers, left arm and left leg. The excellent urgent response from the Medic and Ambulance service got our son to Maui Memorial Medical Centre quickly.Maui Memorial took over and through the thorough caring expert medical care and attention given to our son by all involved with his care,our son regained the use of all his extremities and was discharged within 5 days of his admittance . And in time he will regain his strength and return to the fulsome life he was living before his stroke. Our sincerest thanks to the many doctors, nurses,technicians, and support staff who gave our son the full attention he needed.We will be forever grateful to this excellent hospital and its terrific staff .

Had to have a surgical procedure. Everyone was kind, professional, knowledgeable , thorough and fun. Mahalo Nui loa to all of you!

A week ago I was admitted. Emergency department was on the ball. Maria(nurse) Christian (nurse). Was very thorough. And helped with my needs. Then on cardiac floor. Nurses were wonderful also. I can't remember all their names. Lori and Laura was always available. And aids were helpful. I can't remember the doctors name. But thank you all for excellent care. Aloha

I was riding an electric scooter on our last day of a two week vacation; ended up getting in an accident. I flew over handlebars, kids were behind me and saw it all happen. I had my helmet on, didn’t break anything——but I was scraped up good.

When I arrived to ER my nurse ,Vanessa, was really great. I am also an ICU nurse back home. She exceeding my expectations; very kind and sympathetic to my situation. She was attentive, even though she was busy running around all day. I can honestly say that having her as my nurse today was such a blessing! Accidents happen, but she was a miracle! Thank you to the entire ED team as well!

I had a very pleasant experience when I came here. I am normally terrified of hospitals and I'm actually visiting my mom so it was a very uplifting to go to a hospital and feel like I don't have to worry.

In specific, Kirsten (respitorary tech) was wonderful. She made myself and my mom feel at ease. She even went above and beyond helping my mom in a wheelchair to our car. It was a very calming experience and it definitely calmed my mom's nerves.

I wish there were more people out there like this. Even in a bad situation at first, it ended up a positive one because everything ended up good. Now we are feeling less anxiety for our trip back home!

If you need to go to the hospital for medical care, I can’t recommend Maui Memorial Hospital more. Dr Crow performed my partial parotidectomy. Staff was attentive, kind and very knowledgeable. Each nurse guided me along the way from the beginning ,when I entered the hospital and finished registration to my wheelchair ride to our car. Very caring staff and treats you like Ohana. I wouldn't hesitate to go back! The hospital is up to date on medical procedures and medical technology. I was super impressed! We feel so fortunate and blessed to have MM on our island. The hospital follows the most stringent sterilization procedures and you can feel rest assured you will have excellent care and service. I recently had a total hip replacement at MM. This was major surgery. All the staff were kind, caring and made my anxiety diminish. I wouldn’t hesitate to go have a procedure performed at Maui Memorial!

Amazing experience! From the time I pulled up and was greeted by a valet parking attendant, to the 3 smiling people at the front lobby, all saying -Aloha, to the no-lines to check in, to the nurse Precious who met me at the prep rooms, I received nothing but kindness and graciousness. Every single nurse, doctor, or office personnel was extremely nice.
I had a tumor removed from the parotid gland in my neck, and the experience couldn't have been any better. The nurse in the recovery room was especially nice (cant remember her name because I was out of it) but she seemed truly sympathetic to my nausea, giving me a cracker so I wouldn't throw up. She was from St. Louis, I think.
Anyway, from start to finish, things couldn't have gone smoother. Everyone was amazing, and I am recovering nicely. This was hands down, the best clinical/hospital experience I've ever had, and I've had several surgeries in St. Louis and Tennessee. Beautiful, clean facility, and helpful staff, and best of all--no waiting or crowding. I felt like I was the only "sick" person on Maui! Treated like a queen.

The most wonderful, patient and loving staff. I’ve been admitted before but not for a surgery or anything as scary as a gallbladder removal surgery. Especially when you can’t have visitors much during the pandemic.

Dr. Tasaki was so wonderful and straightforward with me, and did the surgery really well from what I heard and never made me feel unsafe or uncertain about his experience.

The wonderful staff on Kahului Towers. I wish I knew all their names. But Katie, Dianne, Hope, Raychelle, the nurses aides and the sweet evening staff workers, I am in deep gratitude for them. Constantly checking on comfort level and making sure to ask if I had any concerns or questions.

Very informative and very easy to talk to all of them. I feel a deeper respect for them, not just because of the pandemic, but the fact that even before, they strive to provide such stellar care.

Honestly if it were a higher rating, it would be 1000/100. Thank you for the continued hard work with me and other patients.

I was visiting Maui for the first time and did not intend to do medical tourism. A situation arose and my wife took me to the ER. I was kindly received and quickly transferred to a bed. I got there at change of shift and had no shortage of friendly staff helping me. I have forgotten most of the names, but Alyssa was a wonderful nurse and Brian and Megan both helped even though they were assigned to other patients. Dr Langston did a thoughtful work up and directed the team during my procedure. Negatives - I found blood on the bathroom floor (ERs, am I right?) but the housekeeping staff was already on it.
All in all, we were pleased to find such quick, kind and competent care.

Seamless and wonderful experience beginning to end! Every single person I encountered was so friendly and made me feel at ease. The nurses seemed happy at work which was very refreshing to see! I felt very safe, comfortable and well cared for. I think they checked my wristband and cross referenced with my chart four times! Awesome staff!

We were blessed with our third child born at MMMC at the end of 2022 and have received the same treatment with all of our children throughout the years with professional and superior service from the wonderful nurses and doctors at Labor and Delivery (pre and post). We are absolutely thankful and grateful for how well they have taken cared of our babies and my lovely wife. Mahalo 🤙🏼

P.S. The kaukau from the cafeteria is ono too and affordable.

I have to really give it to this hospital!

I woke up and I couldn’t step on my left foot, it felt as it was broken. I started researching on Urgent Care centers in Kihei but none of them had an x-ray machines and I knew I would need an X-ray to determine my injury so the only option was to come to this hospital.

I called ahead to ask if they took my insurance, I was visiting from California and no urgent care would take my insurance, the lady I spoke with was really nice and told me they took any Insurance. That was a big plus because since after reading some bad reviews here I was not too excited to know it was my only option.

From the second I got there I was welcomed right outside, yes they receive everyone outside in a tented area perfectly equipped and arranged to covid protocols. They even had a section to keep the potential covid cases out there that had hardcore medical air filters and high tech equipment to keep everyone safe. I was wearing a brand new KN95 but they insisted I wore a brand new surgical mask on top of it AS THEY SHOULD cause my mask could have been already infected so at this point I know 100% they run a tight ship.

The time I was first greeted to the time I left was less than 2 hours which Is impressive considering I went to a hospital in the middle of a pandemic for a non life threatening issue. Everyone from the doctor to the medical assistants were nice and friendly. Thank you Maui Memorial!
