Huialoha Church (1859)

One of the oldest church on Island. Access only for locals but sometimes gate are open. Beautiful views and old stone walls

Great view point along Hana Hwy. 4 wheel drive only as the road is a little rough and can get muddy. The grounds are pretty and the views are spectacular.

We visited this church to start our sea-to-summit Haleakala hike. This area is beautiful during sunrise and its very easy to get all the way to the water. The drive down (and back up if you so choose) is rocky, but can be done in any car with enough clearance. From here, it's back up the road and toward the start of the Haleakala trailhead. A gorgeous start to a gorgeous hike!

Hidden spot that you must walk to see!! Past the church is amazing views. The water rolloff of the rock beach sounds like the fizzle from fireworks. A experience one must have.

Such a stunning place! Worth the drive but the road in is very rough once you turn off the Hana road. Park at the top or watch for massive pot holes. Sit and enjoy the ocean near the ruins.

This is a Hidden Gem dog leg back from the highway. It is a great spot to get awesome ocean views and pick up some photos of rainbows. The church is always open in a great place for peace and Stillness. This is my second time visiting the church over the last 15 years and there is something about it that makes it remarkable, just set apart from any other Church. This time the gate was locked so we parked at the top of the street and walked down. There was a wedding taking place with just four people. Sign the guestbook, pay your respects, and enjoy your visit.

Beautiful church right on the coast! This is one of my favorite places to stop on the island. My girlfriend and I love to picnic here. Beware the road going down to it is pretty jenky, so I recommend a 4 wheel drive car or some serious driving skills. Other than that, this place should not be missed!

My favorite vista on Maui and a flavor of what it once was. A delightful rest and quintessential photo op after navigating some of Maui's rougher terrain. I've visited here many times and have even seen a pair of rare seals basking on the beach. Approach on foot and please be respectful - it's an important place.

Superb scenic view, be prepared to drive a 4×4 or minimum SUV to get in

Very remote. Be careful with the ocean. Many have lost their lives in not paying attention.
