Wow-Wee Maui's Kava Bar and Grill

Our family was looking for a place to eat a bit off the tourist path and this restaurant did not disappoint. Delicious food, big portions, and reasonable prices for the area. Looks like a lot of locals eat here regularly.

I think we ordered half the menu. We started with Kimchi fried rice, Kalbi and a fish dish I’ve never had but was AMAZING!

We also had some spicy shrimp and it was unbelievably delicious!

This is a local gem that if you missed it, you missed part of the beauty of this island in the culture.

Had some time to kill before our flight and googled sports bar to watch the Super Bowl. OMG the food was terrific, atmosphere was great and patrons all local. And since we sat at the bar we saw EVERY dish that came out of the kitchen. ALL of them looked superb and now wish we made more time to visit it more than once. Had the bacon avocado cheeseburger and ultimate chicken sandwich which were great but like I stated earlier everything looked scrumptious coming out of the kitchen!!

We celebrated my husband’s birthday here for supper before we had to board the plane to fly back home. We shared the Opakapaka plate and a California roll and both were fresh, flavorful, and fantastic! Sorry we didn’t remember to take any photos here.

This bar is nearby Costco and Walmart and the Kahului Airport. If you want to start your trip with some great sushi but don’t want to wait for a waterfront seat, this is the bar to be at. They have great employees serving their customers the best sushi. We chose the special called Haleakala with salmon and the sushi was shaped like a mountain. Very nice plating idea. Our second roll was called the Wow Wee roll. It had a lot of flavor and was perfectly fried so that the cream cheese was warm and gooey in your mouth. We also had drinks. A beer and a Wow Wee Punch.

I found this place when I went to Ululanis next door for a cool treat. Ended up finding the one place I ate at every day while on vacation. They had Kava, which I hadn't had in years, and the staff, all of them were extremely nice, friendly, and made great suggestions for food and other activities while on the island. The atmosphere is definitely casual, and very inviting. Expect a small wait for the food, but it is definitely worth the wait. I will definitely be returning on my next trip out to Maui!!!

So I got excellent service here! I had the place almost all to myself so this was a nice surprise for a peaceful lunch/snack. I just discovered this place for lunch while waiting for the auto shop next door put my wet okole seat covers on. I went with the waitress suggestions for the local fresh fish entree... Could not go wrong!! Next time I need to try their special Kava!! Cannot wait to go back!

Pleasant people and food has quality. Probably for an early Thursday the atmosphere was normal, maybe at a busier day in a better time will be good.

If you haven't tried kava this is a good place to start. They offer traditional shells of kava as well as some new kava in a can cocktails that are absolutely amazing! Wow-wee Maui's kava bar also has a sushi menu with many tasty offerings. With a relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff this is a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy some kava or lunch

This place was incredible and probably one of our favorites from our trip! We had just come back from a Sunset at Haleakala and needed dinner before heading to the airport for our flight. We are soooo glad we chose it. We had the honey walnut shrimp, shrimp tempura roll special and calamari. Will definitely revisit any time we’re here & very much recommend this place to those coming to Maui!

Incredible sushi. I had the Philadelphia and Haiku rolls with a cold Guinness. Both were great, but the Haiku is the best roll I've ever had. Ever.

Stopped in for a quick bite after a long flight. The egg drop soup and wow-wee roll were really good.

Maui's Kava Bar & Grill is a awesome place to eat. The food was amazing. We ate some of everything. And the waitress Kaui was amazing. We had a big group of 12. And she took great care of us. Kaui got all of our drinks and food orders out quickly. And she was super nice and friendly. Honestly super great customer service. Highly suggest you put Maui's Kava Bar & Grill on the places you eat when you come to Maui. Wish I took more pics of the delicious food.

Never had Kava, I'm from Texas and loved every moment of this bar! Food is excellent too!

This place was a great find on Maui. Perhaps our favorite Kava bar on the island as they have Kava and Sushi. The Kava was fresh and the waitress was very informative on its effects. The miso soup was delicious and the food was excellent. I would reccomend anyone to stop in here for a nice lunch. The vibes are great and the people are friendly. We were able to get in and out in under a hour as well!

Great filling food for a great price and to top it off with a great and friendly service.

We were looking for some quick eats on our way to the airport. I love little places like this. We got there and I was excited that it was a little tucked away place. Food was great for bar food and the waitress was awesome. We didn't try the sushi, but we definitely will next time!
