I’ve been looking for a primary care doctor in central Maui that would listen to me and take me seriously (I have fibromyalgia). Sherelle Lum listened to me, was easy going, understanding, and helpful.

We are checking my blood for a handful of things and she is sending me to a rheumatologist to see where my high inflammation is coming from.

This facility is COVID 19 safe. You walk in the front doors and you’ll see someone at a desk to the left. They’ll ask you questions and take your temperature. Then you’ll walk in and check in at the front desk. Their seating is separated by signs. They also give you a sign to place in your seat when your name is called. There was someone cleaning everything while I was there. And they had hand sanitizers at every door.

There was a good doctor at this location (Dr.Wong), but she left after only a few years and a whole year on maternity leave. I don’t think there is anyone who has replaced her. Liked the PAs Jessica Graves and Tamsyn Kellough.
We’ve never had a problem with the check-in people.
The assistants at the Dermatology department are pleasant as well as the doctor and PA, but they now only allow 15 minutes per visit. I felt really rushed and a big portion of those minutes were used bringing the PA up to speed on my conditions and medicines she had previously prescribed. The PA is extremely nice and seems very knowledgeable, but I don’t think 15 minutes is enough time. They may have a lot of patients and the reason for the time limit and/or the priority is now focused more on cosmetic dermatology.

NO PARKING!!! Arrived 40 minutes before appointment- DROVE AROUND LOT 20 MINUTES - ENDED UP GOING TO LONGS DRUGS ACROSS HANA HIGHWAY ...TOOK 50 MINUTES TOTAL ... no parking for this whole building - finally went in a spot for next door car dealer which owns 80 percent of the lot! was told by that business employee to leave or I'd be towed! signs all over about tow...! "no parking" signs along all nearby roads - it's industrial ... finally had to go down Hana Highway, across the street to Longs Drugs and risk being towed by them!!! had to run along hana highway and across street - took 50 minutes total. I called patient advocate and reported... Don't come here until they buy back some spots from the car dealer next door who has 80 percent of the spaces and will tow you!

Probably one of the worse dermatologist offices on Maui. Would NOT recommend. Nurses that assist Dr.cook are not nice and have bad attitudes. Dr.cook doesn’t help and pretty much won’t listen to your concerns instead will pretty much chase you out of there. Seems like they only take patients in to bill your insurance to make money and not help you with what your there for.

I had a dermatology appointment today that was challenging to make in the first place. I arrived early and my two young children I brought with me and I needed to use the bathroom. The bathroom at the Kahului clinic is not ventilated and whatever cleaning products they are using caused my asthma to kick into high gear. It also caused my four year old to have a headache. My throat and my lungs were burning and so I pulled my mask down under my nose so I could take deeper breaths. Not only do I have anxiety but I also have ptsd and started panicking that my asthma was going to get worse. A lady behind the front desk basically gave me the “choice” to pull my mask up (even though I told her I couldn’t breath and had a medical condition) or to leave and reschedule! There was 0 compassion from this woman, and no one in the medical office advocated for me besides one woman who gave me the e and number of the patient advocate. The really worrying thing is I was experiencing a problematic medical issue in a medical office and not one person offered to assist me. I was instead treated like trash and asked to leave. The is very dangerous to handle people this way and if I was someone else who couldn’t advocate for themselves I’d be very worried. I will be filling out a formal complaint and will follow through to make sure not only the office but that the woman who treated me like trash is dealt with accordingly. In my opinion she should be fired.

PA Sherelle Lum ignored my symptoms and gave me unnecessary attitude in a time of fear at my appointment. After chest xrays, she was supposed to call me with results within 2 days, but did not. She had me come in instead of telling me over the phone. At this appointment I made it clear I was still having chest and back pain with trouble breathing. She told me to wait for a callback for further testing - but then decided to annotate in my records that I "refused treatment", which is false. She should be ashamed of her behavior as a "medical professional". I don't care if she does not like military, or white people, it's unacceptable. I have fired her and received a new PA in hopes of finding better care.. but still fall under MMG due to my insurance coverage. Unfortunately, there aren't many options on island.

After making an appointment and showing up for a simple small mole, Dr. Cook told me she didn't have time for me. She was in a hurry to do a surgery and only spent 2 minutes removing the mole, then just about chased me out the door. I initially wanted to have 2 small moles removed, but the price was so high I decided to only have one done. Even then the price was ridiculous for just one, $325. I am never going back! Dr. Cook behaved very unprofessionally and cold. Best go elsewhere.

I had a horrible experience with Jessica Graves. I spent 40 minutes filling out paperwork at 2 counters and waiting for my turn - 30 minutes after my appointment time. Jessica acted annoyed that I was there for a skin cancer check and then she did a superficial check of my skin. For the privilege of her time, I got a $200+ bill. Disgusting. Never again.

This was the worst experience I’ve had at any doctors office, ever. Aside from issues with my mainland insurance, (they accepted it but didn’t ‘participate’ in it) the way I was treated at the receptionists desk was absolutely unacceptable. From the moment I walked in I was given an attitude, my simple questions were answered in a patronizing tone, and I felt like I was inconveniencing the receptionist by being there, even though I had an appointment. I didn’t even make it in to see the doctor because of the way I was treated. I will never be giving my time or money to any of the maui medical group locations, and I strongly encourage the supervisors of this establishment to consider retraining or reevaluating the service that their reception team is currently providing. With being treated so poorly upon arrival for a simple physical, I definitely did not want to be put in the hands of any physicians, should they treat me with the same disrespect. Incredibly disappointed and hurt by this experience.
