Casanova Italian Restaurant

Had the Rigatoni Chicken Vodka Sauce and it was amazing. I have it every time I visit. I also got the Americana Pizza. The pizza is very good and had a good portion of toppings. Started the meal with very good bread with olive oil and balsamic.

My friends took me there the night before I leave Maui. The porcini cream pasta I ordered is the best porcini pasta I’ve ever had! This harmonious flavor of garlic and porcini is a pure joy to my taste buds! Lol Pizza is also GOOD! I had an amazing time with friends thanks to them and the delicious food as well.

The star of this experience is the food. Excellent handmade pasta and sauces. My husband ordered a flavor packed lasagna and I ordered a delicate, but filling spinach gnocchi with gorgonzola and tomato sauces. I highly recommend making a reservation!

UPDATE: Casanova is by far the best restaurant in Makawao, and is open the latest. We were in town for a month, so we tried a good portion of the menu, and everything was fantastic. All the staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. The bartender is amazing as well. We sat at the bar a few times, and she memorized our orders and was quick to offer our favorite cocktails each time we returned. I hesitate to even mention this, but the lilikoi lemonade cocktail is INCREDIBLE. I hesitate because I’m sure it is a bit obnoxious to make, as it is topped with a lilikoi foam that I would fight someone for. It is SO GOOD. The cafe that they have open in the mornings is also great… pastries are made in-house, and they are flakey, buttery and delicious. Go to Casanova, you won’t be disappointed.

Original Review: We had a good time at Casanova. We had the ravioli and carbonara. Service was great and very friendly. Our food came out fairly quickly, and the waitress gave a good wine pairing suggestion to my brother.

Now for the hilarious part! My brother and I are staying in Makawao for a month, and we are quite obviously the only black people in town, complete with dreadlocks. In the restaurant, in the back corner is a large print of a black cowboy. As we were walking to be seated, I whispered to my brother that I bet that would be our assigned seat, and SURE ENOUGH… we were seated in front of the black cowboy. Ironic and hilarious.

Really good food and portions, pretty short wait for the food. Was a little loud but what can you expect from a popular restaurant

Pizza is a must try! Delicious with fresh ingredients and wood fired! Pasta with vodka sauce and fried artichokes are delicious. Tiramisu is authentic and tasty and how it should exactly be!

Christopher is the best server on island!
The food is amazing, stuff you dream about until your next visit.
Focaccia and red wine alone make it worth it, but the bucatini is INCREDIBLE.

My partner and I live in Lahaina. We drive to Makawao just to get food from Casanovas.

This time, we didn’t dine in. However, it was busy there as usual and it was the superbowl.

We ordered sooooo much food. The pasta with steak and mushrooms, the pasta with garlic sauce, focaccia, artichokes, kale salad, Caesar salad, tartufo pizza, and the meatball pizza.

Everything was PERFECT! The pizza was delicious, the crust was crispy, the pasta was perfectly seasoned, the salads were fresh and delicious. The focaccia was tasty, and the high light was the artichokes.

You will not be disappointed when dining here. They care for their take out customers as well. I would’ve loved to take photos but we dug in right away.

Always love Casanova! We’ve had dinner here several times now, anytime we’re on island. Great staff, good atmosphere, and stellar food. Pizzas and pasta are outstanding and the creams brûlée was the best dessert we had. Be sure to get reservations. Social distancing and capacity rules for covid means a few less tables available.

Excellent meal with flawless service. Went for a birthday celebration with a table of 10 people. Great service, delicious food and lovely, comfy venue. Highly recommend!

We stumbled upon this restaurant while we were staying in Haiku. The town had such a small town country feel and this restaurant was the perfect end to our stay. The RIGATONI CHICKEN VODKA BEVERLY HILLS was insanely delicious with broccoli and sundried tomatoes and chicken in the creamy vodka sauce. The pizza Romana was also 10/10 -- the warmed goat cheese brought the best flavor on the pizza. Service was excellent as well - we never waited for any need.

My husband had the seafood linguine with squid ink and he like it a lot! I had the ravioli with sage cream sauce. ALL their pasta and sauces are made on site and so yummy! We enjoyed the chocolate mousse cake for dessert! The liliukoi lemonade was very good!!

Hubs and I have visited Maui for years but have never been to Cassanova. Well, that changes after today. Everything was delicious. The focaccia bread was amazing. Hubs had chicken parm with bucatini. I had Romana pizza, with red sauce, Mozz, Goat Cheese, and roasted red peppers. It may be the most delicious pizza I have ever enjoyed.
And the lemonade hit the spot. We can't wait to go back. Outstanding experience, with attentive service.

The only negative I have is the bathroom door stall was wonky. Lol

Service was friendly and efficient. Chicken was superb! Flavorful and moist. Great presentation. Lasagna was disappointing with impossible to chew edges and a minimal portion, but was tasty and cheesy.

Great date nite! Delicious cocktails and food! I miss the ladies nights on Wednesdays!

Right In the middle of Makawao, Maui is Casanova’s Italian restaurant. I enjoy the food here always.Their pizzas are delicious, the crust is nice and crispy a little sauce and lots of flavor. Their bread is nice an soft, toasted a bit with dried rosemary served with a mixture of olive oil and vinegar. Tonight I got a take out order of PAGLIA E FIENO AI “mushroom” FUNGHI. The pasta was made right. The sauce, cheese, and mushrooms paired very well with the pasta. As always a wonderful experience of flavors. If you’re looking for a great Italian place in upcountry Maui definitely stop here.

Sit in the backroom for the best ambience. The food was great and I believe they make their pasta in house. Their from scratch ice cream was amazing!

The most popular place in the town. Delicious food with fresh ingredients, nice vibe, good draft beer. Mostly fully booked, so better to make a reservation before not just walk in.
