Car rental with Kahului Auto Rentals was great, and perfect rental option for our 5 day trip. We picked up and dropped off at the parking lot at the airport with no issues. The car was older and well-loved but perfect for our hiking, snorkeling, beach going and hanging out with local Maui friends. I will rent again from this local company!

The staff at Kahului Auto Rentals is wonderful. Kathy handled our reservation perfectly and Diana and Zack bent over back when we had a small issue with the key… We highly recommend this company

We rented a 7-passenger van for four days at a great rate. The van was clean and perfectly respectable, though a 2015 year. Everything worked perfectly. They even had the van waiting for us at the terminal parking lot so we didn't have to go anywhere. I would definitely rent from them again!

Renting with Kahului Auto Rentals was the BEST! We did a monthly rental and the price was unbeatable. Car was in really great condition for a used car! Made some sounds but drove perfectly. We had an issue with the car once but customer service was excellent, they quickly sent us help and the issue was resolved.

The car we rented was an older Ford Escape with 70,000 miles on it. It ran great, tires and brakes were good! We drove nearly 500 miles during our week there with no problems. As an older car, it was a bit noisy, which we got used to pretty quickly. Traffic in Maui doesn't often travel at high speeds. Pick up and drop off at the airport was very easy. And of course, the price reduction compared to other car rentals was significant! We'll definitely check with Kahului Auto Rentals next time we come to Maui!

We rent from kahului auto rentals on a regular basis. We always get solid, local looking cars. There's a huge benefit to that as you don't look like a tourist, and nobody's going to break open your trunk and steal your cameras. Good cars at a very reasonable price.

I have been renting from Kahului Auto Sales for years and have never been disappointed. Their cars are reliable and don't look like rental cars, blending in with the local cars with a few dents and scratches. I will use them whenever I am on Maui and need to rent a car.

We were on Maui for 3 weeks and rented a van and smaller car during our stay. Older vehicles with mileage but ran very well. If you don't mind a few dings, dents and scratches it was really good value. Pickup/dropoff at the airport worked like a charm. Mahalo!

Our second time renting a car from here. Always a positive experience and great prices. Also very clear instructions with pick-up and drop off and fast response when I reach out. The car might be an older model but it ran just fine and it was great to have chairs, boogie boards, etc. ready for us in the car. Would definitely recommend!

The Plymouth van we rented from Kahului Auto Rentals may not do the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs, but it did get us safely through many great Maui adventures. The van was reliable, clean and fresh smelling (no wet Wookiee odours or tons of fur).

The pickup and drop-off instructions provided by the company were super clear and detailed. The company dropped off the van in short-term parking as promised, with a full tank of gas and a pre-paid parking ticket. We set coordinates and were off to explore Maui before other fellow airline passengers had even got to the car rental booths. Returning the van is just as easy: drop off passengers and luggage, briefly contemplate leaving them there and start a new life on Maui, leave the car at short-term parking and text a photo of the van to the company. Simple.

Exceptional customer service story (cue sentimental music): Waiting at our gate, reminiscing about the fun times we had on Maui with our KAR van when a voice snapped me to reality - “Flight XYZ to Vancouver…has been cancelled.” Noooo! While scrambling to make plans about where and how to stay over, we remembered “Ah, the van! it’s still in the parking lot.” We called the company and left a voicemail. A few minutes later (this was 10:30 pm) we got a call back saying we can extend our rental for a few days. So awesome!!!

Great service and very pleased with the attention they provided us. They go out of their way to make sure we had whatever we needed including changing out a car that had transmission issues. We will always rent from Kahului auto rentals. Nice guys to work with.

I booked a 2 week trip to Maui for September 2023. I was quoted approximately $2,000 by the big rental companies for a car rental. I searched for alternatives and found Kahului Auto Rentals. I paid 1/4 of the big companies cost, for one of their cars. This left me a ton of money for spending on things I really wanted to do. I drove all over the island and had a great time. The car was waiting for me at the airport, I dropped it off at the airport. All while never having to enter and talk at a rental counter. It was so easy. I am very happy with Kahului Auto Rentals.

Great company with airport pick up and drop off. No shuttle, car is there and you will get a personal text of info. I love this. Made traveling with the family super easy. No wait, no long shuttle rides. Car was great, good quality, very clean, and exactly what we booked. This will be our go to car service from now on.

had another great experience renting from Kahului Auto Rental now going by RENT MAUI. Amazing service especially with the sudden loss the company had, our condolences.Vehicle was clean, cold a/c, easy to access at airport and drop off. Changed drop off day seamlessly. Polite and quick response. Want to book again for 2025 visit to Maui.

Our experience was great! Bobby hooked us up with a nice Ford Escape that ran great around the island. He was super friendly and accommodating. If there was ever a problem, he addressed it right away. He’s an awesome person, very knowledgeable about cars, and everyone should give him their business.

The price and the convivence of picking up and dropping the car are unbeatable. We got a Nissan Rouge and it did the job great. Got us from point A to point B and even to Hana very easily. The AC is a must in Maui and this car had some AC on it, kept us cool and happy and did not at all consume much gas. Thank you for the good experience.

Taking the public bus from Lahaina to the airport for pickup and doing some shopping before returning back to Lahaina we went. This was the first time we rented in Maui from a company other than the big names. Kahului Auto rentals was awesome. You rent an older vehicle, but ours was clean, in excellent shape with almost new tires. Sure it had some scratches and such, but was perfect for what we needed and it was easy to rent and waiting for us across the street in the parking lot. Would recommend these guys and will use them next time.
