We went for 4th grade field trip. Such an awesome place to go and see!!! And on Saturdays you can rent the pedal boats for 5$ and ride on the lake! Or fish! Definitely worth taking the family. They have a gift shop too!

We were here for the Jessie Owen's Classic race. It's a great place for a meet. The foot bridge across the lake is really neat.

What an incredible treasure we have here in Alabama - so much history of Alabama Native American clans, tribes and nation. Dating back thousands and thousands of years with relics, arrowheads and pottery. You’ll learn customs, games that were played and how they lived.
There is so much to see and do - you may want to take the family, go for a picnic, or grab a canoe and jump on the water. Lots to do at this beautiful park and learning center - definitely a keeper

Interesting place with amazing displays. Prepare to spend hours looking at everything. Looks small on the outside until you walk in. Best of all it is FREE!

I grew up and had relatives that lived a mile from the mounds. My earliest childhood memory was going to visit grandmother and driving by the mounds 70 years ago. Fishing in the lake 60 yrs ago long before the museum. Carried my 2 grandkids to the museum a while back and they were fascinated by the artifacts. Some of my Scots Irish ancestors were among the first white settlers in the Oakville area. McNutt was there last name.

Went to the Native American Festival couple of years ago, but Covid stole it the next 2 years. Heard it's back on and can't wait to attend!! Was a very well put on event with food vendors, souvenirs, various demonstrations, Native music and jingle/fancy dancers. Very unique place!!

This a great place to discover your Native heritage and how wonderful this place really is. The annual event held here is great family fun and cultural experience! You can almost hear your ancestors roam the land again and feel their spirits!

Great museum and gift shop. And the stuff for sale in the gift shop isn't outrageously priced. There's also fishing and a walking track. The Indian mounds are fun to walk up, too. There's no admission cost to the museum, but they do take donations. And if you go during an event, sometimes they charge for parking. Usually $5.

The Indian Festival is something the family enjoys every year. 2021 was a bad year because of covid so no indian festival. So this year, 2022, we got to go enjoy the festival even though it wasn't as big as it usually is it was still enjoyable. Great was to get a little exercise plus you will learn alot about how Indians use to make things. Kids really enjoy the adventure and learning about how Indians dance for different things. Really educational, fun, learning experience for the young to the older generation.
