3rd Update! 8.30.24 Came here for my cheat day lunch. Pescado Burrito and small Rice & Beans. So ridiculously good. Loved it!! I did verde and limes 🍋‍🟩 on every bite of burrito. 🥳

2nd Update! 8.28.24 Just got a Chorizo Burrito and Two Al Pastor Tacos for dinner. This place is ridiculously good. 🥳 At this point I don’t go to any other Mexican restaurant for a quick bite for lunch or dinner. It’s so good. Lately I have been ordering for pickup through “Toast”, similar to Uber Eats or Grubhub but no fee and they prefer to use Toast. If you like anything Mexican you must come here!

1st Update! 8.15.24 I consistently come here for my cheat day meal. Today was a Al Pastor bowl and a Chorizo Quesadilla!! It was amazing!!! This place is still 10/10!!

Initial Review! I go here every week on my cheat day and get a Chorizo Burrito and Small Rice & Beans. I look forward to it at lunch time and I skip dinner that night! So yummy!!! 😋

The best Tacos in MD. I've enjoyed their food for a few years now and it never disappoints. If you want real authentic street tacos, go here! 10/10 will recommend.

I love their tacos and tortas. Every time I have gone there it’s been delicious and it’s in my rotation for lunch places. They are friendly, food is great, and you can get it pretty fast. I highly recommend trying if you want to eat a reasonably priced lunch that satisfies the taste buds. Oh and the Al pastor is definitely amazing, along with everything else.

The tacos were really good. It's a fast casual type of place with a broader menu than a typical taco bar. There are more Spanish speaking diners than English which should tell you something about the quality and authenticity of the tacos.

Now to the food. The guacamole was simple yet surprisingly complex. It didn't have all the punch-you-in-the-face ingredients that the Chipotle guacamole has but they manage to make you taste a lot while staying simple.

I had the sope combo and loved the texture of the fried, hand-made tortilla. My partner had a collection of tacos and really enjoyed her al pastor. The proteins were wonderful and I will definitely go back.

If you are looking for a place to replace Chipotle, this is the hidden gem you've been looking for in the DMV.

Not only are the burritos fairly priced, they are the gigantic big fat fatties you remember from the early 2000s, and stuffed with incredibly flavorful and fresh ingredients - the chorizo was incredibly complex without bringing any unnecessary heat.

This is the fast-casual Tex Max of your dreams, great ambience in the store and extremely fast service, compared to the big corporate chains this is far more flavor and much bigger servings.

Despite being in a strip mall, Tortacos is worth a visit. Started by folks from Los Angeles who moved to the area, they serve among the best tacos in the D.C. area. Here's why you should go:

1) Tacos: They sell many of them and you can't go wrong. I ordered the fried beef tacos with cheese and combined with the dipping sauce...wow! It was hot, tasty and hit the spot!

2) Space: It's large with plenty of booths and tables. Public restrooms are in the back.

3) Parking: Because it's in a strip mall, there's PLENTY of parking.

4) Staff: They are friendly and clearly proud of their product. The man behind the register asked that I give my honest feedback after lunch. He came and found me to ask how my lunch was. I told him "out of this world!"

Went for the first time last week. I was impressed that it was good. There aren’t many good Mexican restaurants. The flavors are delightful to the tastebuds. It is a bit Americanized but they still stick to the Mexican roots. Not too bad for a Mexican Restaurant. The red hot sauce is pretty good too. We ate the Torta and burrito bowl. Both were great! Thanks!

I've been a loyal Tortacos customer since they opened their first location in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I've not once had a bad experience! Their restaurant has always been clean and welcoming. The staff has always greeted me with a smile and made me feel valued.

The food is always fresh and made to order. From their burrito bowls, to their tacos, to their quesadillas, you absolutely can't go wrong. Their prices are standard and fair for the quality/quantity of food.

Sure you can be basic and go to your local Chip*tle and have another mediocre food experience, but why would you want to when you can support a great local business with solid food!

Today's visit was no different from any other visit, absolutely wonderful. My burrito bowl was just right and worth the drive down from Frederick.

If you're on the fence, and scrolling through reviews, just stop! Go see what you've been missing!

Husband and I have been going to Tortacos for YEARS - def our favorite local Tex-mex place. Everything on their menu is delicious and fresh. If they ever left Germantown we might have to move… ;-)

Love supporting this family-run restaurant, serving up fresh, from-scratch LA-style quick bites like tacos / burritos / sopes / bowls / tortas / etc. This is the 2nd outpost of Tortacos, the original for years located near Gaithersburg Transit Center (listed in Washingtonian's Top 100 Cheap Eats multiple times) . Nice clean modern industrial look, a much larger space than the original Tortacos. Sound system plays music but thankfully not loud, and the music gets paused when the intercom is engaged (telling you orders are ready, nicely done!). Food is fresh and tasty here (salsa & marinades made daily), there's a good dedicated fixings bar that's still maintained and replenished, and prices are reasonable. So much better and authentic food than other fast casual places. Staff is friendly as well.

My experience at Tortacos in Germantown was muy delicioso! The menu offers a wide variety of options, from traditional tacos to flavorful burritos and refreshing margaritas. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, this place is sure to satisfy your cravings for authentic Mexican flavors.

Something that I like when I go places to eat is when the place is clean. It is excellent, and the food is good. Now you can have margaritas or beer in this place.

Family owned and operated. The best tacos I’ve ever had. Drove all the way from Florida to taste the tacos at Tortacos. Check out the picture. You did the special taco into the soup for better taste and warmth

We have been ordering online for years now, and they never disappointed. So I stopped by the restaurant, and thoroughly loved their inside setup as well!
The chicken soup is the hidden gem on this menu.

Man... these are the best tacos I have had in MoCo. They are LEGIT. Living in CA for so long, it's been hard to find tacos in this area that even compare!

I've only tried so far, the Carne Asada & Pescado tacos. But I can't wait to try everything else on their menu! Both tacos were delicious! The tacos are the perfect size. The salsas and fillings were on point. I love the toppings bar. When you order delivery - toppings aren't an option. So if you can, do take out instead! The chips are good, but I wasn't a fan of the guacamole. It was way too salty and lemon-y for my taste.

Prices are reasonable.

Service is good.

Parking is easy.

It's like a little bit of Mexico/Cali right here in MoCo.

Coming from San Diego, we know good tacos. Tortacos are great tacos! Everything here is authentic and amazing. It has to be the best, most authentic tacos in the area, if not the entire East Coast! If you're in the area and love tacos, then you have to check this place out!
