The Dock: A River Cafe

My husband and I went out for the day kayaking on the river. We decided to stop at this cozy spot right on the river. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We decided to order the Cheddar Apple Grilled Cheese, something we hadn't tried before anywhere else. It is a perfect blend between the 2 flavors and was absolutely delicious.
We enjoyed sitting out by the water and just listening to the serene noises of the river, and although it is right next to one of the bridges, the traffic noise was not bothersome.
If you're out on a kayak, you can tie up at the front of the restaurant. They have 5 ropes out there to tie up to. It took a little finesse, and I'm sure it was quite the sight watching me climb onto the dock from the kayak, so I suggest having someone help you if you have another person in your group.
You don't have to be on the water to stop in. They have parking behind the restaurant and stairs to walk down to get to the restaurant. Whenever we are back in the area, we will definitely be back.

Went to brunch with family and had a delicious meal. The owner and her daughter greeted us when we arrived and told us about each dish on the menu.

The covered dock was clean and inviting. I can't wait to go down on a Friday or Saturday night and see the river traffic while enjoying some more great food.

I had such a great time at this place! The atmosphere is really peaceful with the river and the dock. The food was amazing and super unique (like an apple grilled cheese or a bourbon blackberry cupcake). Every brand was from Kentucky or Cincinnati as well, which was a great touch. I highly recommend it!

Our family of 4 (2 teens/2 adults) just had an amazing meal at The Dock! We were immediately made to feel welcome - the staff talked us through the menu and helped us choose what to try and they were super attentive our entire visit. We loved getting to chat with them! The atmosphere was casual and so peaceful by the water. The food was INCREDIBLE. So much was made with local ingredients, which I loved. We all got the V-Style Smashburgers with pimento cheese and bacon pepper jam (none of us even used condiments on the burgers because they were great just as they came) and Ranch tots. We decided to try a few different desserts and we're hard pressed to pick a favorite. There was a warm S'Mores Stuffed cookie, a Chocolate cupcake with bourbon buttercream topped with a salted carmel bourbon glaze, and a
Bourbon pecan brownie. They were all fantastic, but the brownie was probably the absolute favorite. After glancing at their brunch menu, we all decided we're coming back as soon as we can to give that a try also. DON'T SLEEP ON THIS ONE!

We had the Pimento Tray, a turkey burger and a smashburger. Absolutely phenomenal. Seasoned perfectly. The pimento cheese had a jam on it, that made it super flavorful. I love that they have healthy options and sugar free beverages.
The service was very friendly.
We loved everything! Will be back.

The Dock: A River Cafe was amazing! Nice little place at the marina directly in the water. Owners and employees are extremely nice and accommodating. We had 5 in our party and we all tried each other’s dishes. There’s definitely some exceptional talent with preparing the menu. All item were out of this world. Things that don’t seem would go together, made everything delicious! The owner previously worked at a restaurant where Diners, Drive Ins and Dives visited. Her talent is shown through the menu that she creates and perfects. We can not wait to go back. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed and will go back again! Thanks The Dock ladies and man!

Atmosphere and food is top notch. I would recommend to anyone visiting Frankfort to come down here and give it a try. Everything we have tried is amazing. We always love trying places that source their ingredients locally! Everyone that works here is amazing also, they definitely make this place a staple in Frankfort

It's hard to beat being on the river. The only thing that can make it more enjoyable is a good meal. The food here is super delicious and has options for any dietary needs. If you just want a snack, there's great local/regional foods in their store! Come by land or by sea, just make sure to stop by!

I've eaten here at least three or four times and it has always been exceptional! So far I've had the brat "v-style", the biscuit and gravy, and the blackberry French toast. Every single thing is amazing. This place does NOT disappoint!

Brought in 10 people around 5:30 pm after boating all day on the Kentucky River. I had the All-American burger which was delicious and so did 3 others. Some of our group had turkey burgers which was also very good. We will visit this restaurant again and give it two thumbs up!

Visited 06/29: The idea of the place was enough to motivate me to eat outside on a rather hot evening (which I am very resistant to) to try some of the amazing looking food I’d seen posted. I am very glad to have done so. My wife and I shared a number of items on the menu: a chili dog (very meaty with a nice consistency), the “v style” brat (white cheddar pimento cheese and bacon / pepper jam, amazing!), the “River style” smash burger (yellow pepper mustard and grilled onions, definitely high on my list of burgers), the pimento cheese appetizer (spoon it into the sweet peppers, trust me), the biscuit and gravy (incredible sausage flavor), the caprese pasta salad (which, according to my wife, “tasted like summer,” due to how fresh the ingredients were, she also loved the cheese and herbs), the salted caramel bourbon cupcake (the bourbon cream: oh. my. goodness!), the bourbon ball brownie (incredibly fudgy, again with the bourbon cream), and the peach pie with vanilla bean Chantilly cream (amazingly fresh peaches, the cream was lightly flavored, and the crust was flaky and buttery). We’re already making plans to go back to The Dock for brunch…

The food was wonderful, unique, and locally sourced. It's chef owned, and you can really see the passion they have through their dishes. The view is great and I can't wait to come back!

The food and atmosphere here are great! We had the apple pie pancakes with peanut butter sauce and whipped cream - it was amazing. We will definitely be back!

The food was delicious with a lot of variety. I had a turkey burger. It was delicious. Also wonderful homemade desserts. Our family loved it.

The pasta salad and grilled cheese is so good!! Has live music to enjoy while you eat! The servers and worker’s are nice and bring a great mood to the place.

We met friends here last night for 4th of July, and laughed and had a ball! It was so much fun to sit there, on the dock, right by the water, watching the boats pull up for gas, stop and get there food, enjoy the nice restrooms,

Only had the pleasure of enjoying part of the “soft opening”. They had great music, delicious food, a cool vibe, and speedy service! I can’t wait see this gem at full steam! 5 ⭐

This place is such a treat with airy dining on the river. The menu is full of flavors to savor and delightful desserts! This is a gem for Frankfort!

If you're looking for a quiet evening on the river, enjoying great food and music... this is the place for you. I love the atmosphere and the food!
