One of the best lobster rolls I’ve had in the Hamptons so far, with an absolutely staggering amount of lobster (no kidding, like double most other rolls). Great if you like a more mayonnaise heavy roll.

Mike gave us a warmhearted Irish welcome as well! Looking forward to coming back.

Delicious lobster rolls, packed with lots of lobster! We stopped by here after another spot that we were planning to go to was closed for the season. It ended up being a wonderful decision because the food was great, and the owner was very kind. Portions were generous - they definitely did not skimp on the lobster 🦞

We also ordered the New England chowder which wasn't the classic flavor profile we expected, but very delicious nonetheless. It was a lot less creamy, which actually paired well with the lobster rolls.

FYI: Went with a few friends who all said that the lobster roll here was tastier and more generous than ones they've had in Manhattan!

The owner is the best, it’s not only a Seafood shop with the Freshest Fish in the area it’s a town hall where patrons that have been coming for years can have a laugh.

This best way to tell that’s this is the only place to get fish is because when you walk in it doesn’t smell fishy at all. Only bad fish smells.

Amagansett seafood is absolutely the best seafood market in all of Long Island.
The owner, Mike makes the experience one that you will never forget. Not only does he can turn a bad day into a glorious one instantly with his vivacious personality., he is also extremely helpful and assisting you what he has and how to prepare it . We have been getting our lobsters for years as he cooks them splits them and put them in a very easy container for the family to enjoy.
His little necks on the half shell are always fresh as can be, and can be addicting.
When you enter the store, you feel like you’re with family and friends. The typical Hampton attitude is left out the door.

Mikes seafood is the freshest. His scallops ceviche unparalleled as well as his collection of salads. Finally he is a wonderfully fun and friendly soul who loves interacting with his customers.

No exaggeration, I’m OBSESSED with their food. Everything i’ve tried is delicious. And the owner and staff are the best people you could ever hope to meet. I only wish they delivered to Westchester. If you visit Amagansett you MUST try this place!
Pro tip: Buy the tuna salad like no other and spread it on some good crackers.

You can rely on Mike to provide only the freshest highest quality food. His scallops are the best I've ever had anywhere. He won't sell anything that doesn't meet his high standards. If he doesn't have the fish you're looking for it's because the quality available wasn't good enough. So if he's got it, you know it's going to taste great.

Mikes seafood is unparalleled. I may never have had a better lobster roll. And the ceviche and smoked bass are gourmet! Perhaps most of all, Mike is fun, charming and generous!

This is, by necessity, a two part review... there's the food, and then there's the hospitality. In this case, they're inextricable, but if you haven't yet experienced the mojo, you just won't get it.

That said, first I must address the individual who gave this place a One Star review. Bless your heart my friend. You sure are living a hard life.

That's all I have to say about that.

On to the food. Having now discovered this gem, I will gladly be driving the 3-1/2 hours each way from my home in Jersey (Sidebar - be prepared for the comments when he sees your out of State plates) for Mike's fish tacos and lobster rolls. Each of the two tacos was meal in and of itself... my choice of fresh fish, smothered in slaw and sauce and some kind of tequila-lime thing and a side of apricot chutney. I'm sure I missed a few ingredients, but it was absolute culinary brilliance. The lobster roll was possibly a whole damn lobster. Seriously. Buttered roll, lettuce, actual ripe tomato. Hell yeah.

Then there's the notable matter of the hospitality. I won't say I wasn't at least a little caught off guard. What to say about the proprietor Mike? If you can imagine Conor McGregor as a trash talking golden hearted fish monger with an attitude, you're on the right track. For the record, I'm pretty sure I got Mike to call me an A-hole in less then 30 seconds. I won't say exactly how, but I'll tell you this... he's not British. I returned the salutation, and I'd like to think we're now friends.

Bottom line... every piece of fish in in the store looked like it was swimming ten minutes ago, every prepared item was spectacular, nothing was cheap, and it'd all be a bargain at twice the price. Oh, and say hi to Mike. You won't regret it.

Seafood is amazing! Scallop ceviche is one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. Mike, the owner, is by far one of the nicest, most accommodating, ridiculously funny and outrageously unique individuals I have ever met.

Nice little seafood shop that carries a good selection of prepared salads, soup, fresh fish, live lobster. Owner is really nice. I got the lobster salad ... expensive but worth every Penny. Plus located right next to a liquor store and supermarket

Do you like seafood? Do you like personable business owners? Would you like to meet a seafood master who continually masters his craft? Mike is amazing and esstatic. Read reviews stating Mike is drunk.......... Drunk on enthusiasm! You only live once and this man is living it! Let's review the food

Lobster roll - packed with lobster and lobster slaw. The slaw and whole lobster really works well because the slaw holds down the whole lobster while you chew down. The bun is not buttery special bun but keeps the whole sandwhich light.

Cod taco - you get multiple choices of fish. Ask him and he breaks down all the fish and which ones you may prefer. Really juicy and amazing. The sauce is the highlight! Really good tangy rich sauce. Similar to the lobster roll, the soft taco shells are generic but gets the job done.

Bass dip - these don't exist in Maryland. It's amazing.......

Curry salmon - wow. Flavor flavor flavor. You would think a seafood master would only know seafood. He makes amazing curries. The curry is rich and deep with the salmon only intensifying it. Over rice, this stuff is a drug in food form. He even has samples of new concoctions he makes in the front for you to try.

Scallop Ceviche - sweet scallop in a lime juice. I have been to Peru and tried alot of ceviche. This comes extremely close if not better. The cilantro,onion, tomato, and lime ratio is on point. The scallops are amazing. I would take the juice home and make some margarita. Mike will teach you how to make it!

Mike knows where all his sustainable fish comes from like a true professional. While you are here, you will see his interactions with all the locals whom he remembers by name.

I started with just the lobster roll and ended up getting all the above because I was so appreciative of his knowledge. Talk about value, bill came out to $60

My go-to spot for fresh seafood. The Irish owner, Mike, is friendly and will happily give you samples of his delicious prepared dishes - or crack open a locally harvested oyster to let you taste the terroir.

Food is always delicious and extremely fresh! Have been coming here with my parents since I was a toddler, fast forward 19 years of being loyal customers, the quality is always amazing! The customer service is always really amazing and Mike, the owner, is super friendly and always making people laugh and feel comfortable! The portions are amazingly generous!! These are the tacos he has available (shrimp, scallop, and mahi). They were amazing and the chutney made them taste even better!! 20/10 recommendation! You’re tastebuds will thank you!!!!

Great selection of seafood, plus a dish or two for takeout. Highly recommended, you can find the store nestled next to the area's supermarket.

We always come here for fresh seafood out East. Great selection of fresh fish salads. The only place I’ll have scallop ceviche.
