Hohl

SO good! Latte was rich and delicious, and lamb sandwich was amazing (served of freshly baked and toasted bread). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the cozy atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!!

First time trying Hohl and was not disappointed! The Grits & Shrooms were masterful! From the consistency to the flavors, my favorite grits meal of all time. Usually the phone eats first, but the fragrance left me no choice but to eat ¼ of it before I could snap a picture. Thoroughly enjoyed my flat white with their Dingo syrup and the service and vibes were also immaculate

Finally somewhere I can eat and not feel terrible later. Fantastic food, very **allergen** friendly, just one of my absolute favorite places.

We had a chai latte/ latte avocado toast and veg sambo for Rambo. Everything was excellent. Loved the pickled veggies and bread.

Such a gem! Atmosphere was cozy, staff was all so friendly and the baked goods we had were excellent. We came here because my 7 year old had been watching videos of latte art and wanted to go to a coffee shop where they did this. Not only did he get a cocoa with a design on top but they showed him how they do it ❤ we will definitely be frequent visitors and have already placed an order for the cake we tried there for my husband's birthday.

I will now compare every other coffee shop to this one. This is as good as it gets. The calm ambience, creative cuisine, and friendly smiles set this place apart. But it’s more than that- there is a unique feeling about Hohl. Like it has its own culture and personality. I don’t think you could replicate it exactly how it is because there’s something intangible that is really special about it.
The waffles are the best I’ve ever had. Actually everything our family ordered was just a level above. Hohl is worth driving out of your way for. Next time we are down near Williamsburg or Richmond, we will definitely stop by.

Had a ladies lunch. The menu had breakfast and lunch items. Not alot of protein items on the menu, but you can add from "side" menu. (Eggs, shrimp).

Had the avocado toast with poached eggs. Gorgeous presentation, just the right serving size. Another item was the Kerfuffle waffle. THIS was awesome! Another well portioned meal.

Saw the Grits and shrooms and it looked nice as well.

Had the cappuccino and it was a good flavor, not too strong, with a lively leaf pattern.

The pastry counter was full of lovely looking treats, but we passed.

Nice place for a special treat.

Fantastic place with exceptional coffee and service, and delicious, fresh food. I normally have flavor in my latte to balance the bitterness of the coffee, but the coffee here is so smooth that it requires none. The menu is inventive and delicious, with choices so excellent that choosing one presents quite a challenge. Its an authentic Aussie-style cafe—synonymous with the best. I cannot wait to go back to try more!

I've been excited to check out Hohl for awhile. I was not disappointed! The whole place had a great feel to it; lovely, bright and clean. I was thrilled to see three gluten free pastry options. Both the seasonal muffin and the lavender latte I ordered were blissful. The service was warm and welcoming. I look forward to my next visit.

We got two butterscotch lattes and 2 different tarts. The coffees were delicious and the tarts were so buttery and flaky, absolutely amazing. The Cafe itself is very cute and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended

I am a big fan of Hohl. The food is unique & healthy and yummy. My favorite (if I have to pick just one) is Gritz & Shrooms. The fresh pressed juices are so good!! I like sitting outside at the pic-nic tables and in the fall, they even have cozy blankets. The pastries & cakes are also amazing. Highly recommend!

Wonderful little place. Great staff. New to Williamsburg. Combination of unique foods. We had the slow roasted lamb sandwich on sourdough bread that was very good. They have pastries/desserts. I had the home made blueberry soda and salted caramel cake both of which were very good. Just a few miles off of 64 using exit 227. Small place but worth it! Special coffees and teas. Vegan foods as well.

This was a lovely discovery. Coffee was excellent. Treats were delicious and gorgeous. Service was phenomenal! What a great little place. I wish we were closer but we will definitely return.

Wow what a hidden gem. Visiting Williamsburg from northern Virginia and we always look for local bakeries. This place is amazing. great coffee, amazing avocado toast and cheesecake. Everyone was super nice and helpful. This will be a must stop anytime we head south.

If this little cafe is the answer to my prayers for a coffee shop in Toano, then I am well and truly satisfied. We finally stopped in during mid morning on a Thursday. The seating area was half full, with customers arriving and departing regularly. The walls and floor are all (reclaimed, interesting) hard surfaces, so the noise was a little harsh. The front door opens directly into the cafe, so flies have an easy time getting in and were gathered in a group of 5 or so on a sunny tabletop. The food out for selection, though, seemed clean and fresh even though it wasn’t covered. The menu was lovely, both in selection of food and of drinks/coffees. My foamy coffee did not get a heart in it—definitely the only disappointing aspect to my cuppa. The avocado toast I bought at a hefty $9.50 was absolutely amazing. Delicious and fresh with balanced textures and flavors, it was so good that I am looking forward to forking over another $10 so I can eat it again. Soon. The cashier and coffee maker/waiter were both friendly and bright without being pushy or loud, and we saw owner Chris in and out of the kitchen but didn’t get to chat. Maybe next time. Welcome, welcome Hohl!

Fantastic brunch spot in Toano, really cute interior and really great healthy food! Highly recommend if anyone wants a healthy bite or some fantastic coffee!

My first time in! Incredible food and adorable atmosphere! I ordered 3 different items because I couldn't decided on just one! Will definitely be back again! Everything was delicious

So excited to try the expanded menu when it happens! Hot chocolate is absolutely delicious, as are the berry muffins. The Chai latte, using their own spice blend, is very good. I like that it doesn't taste like Starbucks. Gets busy during the open air market but staff was still super friendly and offered to make the hot chocolate warm when they saw it was for my daughter, which was very thoughtful.

My husband and I love this shop, and the biggest downside is it's 45 minutes from where we live. But the location, tucked back in the woods of Toano, adds so much to the feeling of respite from busyness. Their food is incredibly flavorful, high quality and intentionally served. The prices match the level of food, and portions are reasonable; just don't come expecting to be full like you would at Cracker Barrel. The coffee is delicious but the biggest draw for us in the atmosphere - feels like the perfect, sleepy coffee shop next to your B&B on vacation.

SO CUTE!! SO DELICIOUS!!! This place reminds me of home (NoVa). It had the hip and chic atmosphere while also being homey and warm. The food is top notch. Everything I have had has been so fresh. I don't like tea usually but theirs is great, especially on a cool day. Pastries are constantly made all day and very yummy. I recommend the apple one in photo.
