Great service. Very friendly and helpful. Food was perfectly prepared and delicious. Pasta and steak were phenomenal. Be sure to try the ice cream and chocolate cake! We sat outside and enjoyed the cool breeze through the corridor. So happy we found our way here!

Food was phenomenal! We loved our meals and definitely recommend eating here. One thing to note was that it was extremely hot inside the restaurant and several people ended up leaving because it was so hot inside. I suggest bringing your own personal fan to cool yourself off with. Maybe this one night was not the norm for them! Either way the service and food was delicious and we definitely recommend! Make sure you make a reservation a few days in advance.

We had to queue for twenty minutes. When we got to the front of the queue the waiter said no dogs allowed. When he saw how small and cute our dog was he allowed us in and sat us by the front door with our dog tucked away. The food was phenomenal and served very hot it was very fresh and delicious.

Food:
- Well cooked, best dishes were the salmon & lamb shank
- Tortellini was not my most preferred.

Service:
- Friendly owner & staff, jolly attitude and offered to help us take photos.
- Accomodated for our 6pax table even though the restaurant is small.

Atmosphere:
- Small but cozy, warm ambient lighting.
- Tableware & utensils are nice.

Small local restaurant in Varenna, the food and service were amazing. We got the sharing meats & cheese platter, lamb and lasagne for mains. House white and Red wine are a good option.
Highly recommend the lamb as it was very tender and well cooked.

We did not make a reservation, I think the only way you can is in person. We waited until 7pm in line (directed by the sign) and were seated by 730.

Please understand that this is a SMALL local place with limited seating. It’s not the servers fault if they are busy during peak season.

Wow, just wow! Amazing experience with the staff, and delicious dinner. The food was amazing! We had the duck ragout, lamb chops, and beef tenderloin. We lucked out with getting a table by waiting a few minutes before opening. If we had more time, we would have liked to eat here again :)

Excellent! A Gem! Avoid the tourist traps on the water, go here for a lovely authentic meal in beautiful Varenna. We had lunch. Absolutely delicious with some very friendly on point service. Their pastas are fresh & to die for!!

Came for lunch in late April and I'm glad I did! The food was delicious and all the staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't have a reservation but I waited to see if they had available tables right when they opened. I got lucky, because soon after, the restaurant was full (its very small) and they had to turn people away. A few of those groups made reservations for lunch and dinner on following days, so I highly recommend reserving in advance if you can (they do take solo diners!).

The grilled octopus was fabulous and the duck ragu was flavorful. The panna cotta was more solid than I prefer but still hit the spot for dessert. If you don't finish your wine, they'll cork it for you. Good portions, reasonable prices, warm ambiance and wonderful service. I would definitely come again!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Cavatappi in Varenna!

We sat inside as the evening was slightly chilly. I had the house red wine by the glass and my wife had the house white. They were both good. They started us out with a small complimentary appetizer, prosciutto and mozzarella.

For first course, I had the ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta, which was delicious. My wife had the tagliatelle with duck ragu. Her dish was fantastic, one of the most flavorful dishes I’ve ever tasted. Candidly, I ate most of hers’. 😂

We shared the second course, which was the pistachio crusted salmon. It was very good with the fresh roasted tomatoes.

Finally, we ended with a tiramisu. I wouldn’t say it was the best one I’ve ever had but it satisfied my sweet tooth.

We would definitely recommend when visiting Varenna!!

Charming simple local fare 🍝

Tried the local trout taradito and enjoyed the caprese.

Pasta was delicious and the meat was enjoyed.

This is definitely a great place for lunch during your day of touring the village.

Table of 2 seats quickest so if you are more expect a bit of a wait

The food was absolutely exceptional! Make sure to make reservations because this place is always packed. My husband and I did not get dessert and that decision will forever make us sad. I will come back to lake como just for this restaurant

Probably the best pasta I had ever. We wanted to sit specifically outside so we waited around 25-30mins but table inside was available earlier than that.
Pasta was delicious and so was the panna cotta. Great service, everything was well.

I came here for lunch in early March and immediately fell in love with this little restaurant. I had the wild boar pasta and a veal dish, which I can say was by far the BEST meal I had on my 2.5 week trip to Italy. If you want to be a step away from the tourists and eat at a delicious, family-run restaurant, go here! 😊

A great place to have lunch.

The place is small, so we (4 people) had to sit on 2 separate tables nearby.

The food is local and very good, we enjoyed duck ragù, seafood pasta and lasagna,

I esp easily recommend their tiramisu, it was very tasty. And it does not contain coffe if you are allergic to it.

The price is okay, not the cheapest place, we payed around 40 per person with wine.

Overall really happy that we stumbled onto it.

Delizioso! This was one of my favorite dinners on Lake Como! Be sure to make a reservation because it is definitely worth it, and I don’t think they will give you a table without a reservation. The service was fantastic and the food was superb! My husband and I really enjoyed our experience and it was a highlight of our honeymoon. I highly recommend this wonderful establishment! Molto bene!

A friendly place for a lunch we got in town.
The caprese , lamb shank and the lake fish pasta were very delicious. Got to come and try！

In a sea of tourist traps, this place stands out. Some of the best food we’ve had so far in Italy. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Charming, best restaurant in town. Food is fresh, excellent and memorable. Service was friendly and loves when you come back two nights in a row!
