The food was so delicious. This is the best Mexican food I have ever had. I lived in florida and have Mexican food at some local restaurants that was okay. They wouldn't be able to top this place, though.

Beautiful furniture, friendly hardworking staff, great food, and cozy atmosphere. Waiter was very attentive and helpful for finding alternatives to the menu.

It was a pleasant experience that I would recommend for anyone and the waitress went out of our expectations to make our meal good! The owner came out to greet us personally! Thanks PORTAL 2 !

Excellent food and service was fantastic!

We have loved this place since forever. We started coming here when my kids were in middle school. They are adults in their early 30's now. When my daughter and her family come home from Tennessee she has to stop here every time.

We really enjoy El Portal. Beef fajitas are our favorite, always tender and perfectly seasoned. I like the tostada. As transplants from Texas, it's been a challenge to find "that" place, the one that's comfortable and consistent and you just look forward to. This is it for us.

Every time I go there, I'm certain that I'm going to eat, and eat well. You can hear your food coming towards you, cast iron sizzling towards you... it's a beautiful sound. Portions are great the color and atmosphere in this place is both dark and colorful with carved seats, booths and tables. Nice bar area....will be back again

Food here is great! Service is prompt. There's an adorable little abuela walking around checking on everyone. Prices are very reasonable and the decor is cute.
My coworkers and I stopped in for lunch and enjoyed a lovely hour. The carnitas are sooo good!

Best Mexican food in Hartselle! My friends and I enjoy the atmosphere while chowing down. Just wished they wouldn't tell the waiter it's my birthday everytime we go. The staff probably think I'm immortal by now...

Food was good, service they were super nice and answered any questions we had. Been going there for years.

Restaurant was clean. Was seated quickly on the outdoor patio. Menu is similar to most Mexican style restaurants. I ordered the shrimp chimichanga. Our order was out quickly and the flavor was great. This is a place I will return to.
