State Game Farm

The game farm is our favorite place to fish! Love all the improvements that they have done,it was a good place to go to before now it's a great place to go and fish ,spend time with your family .look at all the animals and even talk to the geese that love to come over and see what you're up too. The game farm is an awesome place to bring your family too no matter what their ages are!! 1 yr - 100yrs they'd have a wonderful time.

Love going fishing at the game farm is very socialized very nice clean and you never know what you might catch with over 30 trout but release them back and two yellow Bass everyone you meet there is very nice get a chance take advantage a fishing picnic seeing the wild animals wildflowers

We enjoy fishing here. This is a very family friendly place to come and fish. There is plenty of area around the ponds to fish. There is a dock and it is handicap accessible. Recently there was work done on the lower lake to open up the north side of the lake.

Love fishing here! Any day I can cast my line here is a good one :)

Cool place to fish or watch animals..dont feed the animals!

It's a really pretty place to fish. Got a few nice bites but haven't caught anything yet. Bait: chicken, worms, minnows, lures

I always enjoy visiting, either by myself to read on lunch breaks, or with my kids to Salato Wildlife Education Center.

Great place for the whole family to fish, hike, explore, learn and enjoy the great outdoors together. It's also a lovely peaceful place to meditate, practice yoga or have a picnic and see some indigenous KY animals. However, I don't think it's free to visit the animals, it is free to enter and use the lakes and park area.

Love this place to go walking around the lake. So peaceful. Also the grounds are kept clean. But please do your part to keep it that way! As i was walking saw a little trash left behind. There are all kinds of trash cans there no excuse! I would have picked it up but had no gloves with me. Due covid-19 just being cautious.

It's always beautiful where geese come and go always. People are always fishing there. Love the little bridge they built and the dock the built is very nice.

My Grandson fish's there he's handicapped work's perfect for him. I've loved the Game Farm for years . I still don't think you should have to pay to see the animals.

It's a nice place to walk, hike or fish. They salato center is a great place for a family to visit as well. I live very close to it and am so happy to have a place like this wander around and really take a break from everything else.

When do they restock the pond

There are two lakes: upper and lower sportsman with upper being larger of the two. They are part of the FINs program and are stocked every month with catfish. You'll also find bluegil, trout and large mouth bass (rare to find min. 15 inches). There are docks you can fish off of and there are spots all around the lakes to sit and fish, bring your own chairs. The place closes at 9pm but you can usually stay until dark, if that's later. It's a tobacco free campus and there are geese and ducks everywhere, careful where you step! You can drive around both lakes in under five minutes. It's a great spot.

Love to go and watch the birds, geese and ducks! Not happy with people who leave their fishing lines & bobbers stuck in trees or in the water where the geese & ducks get tangled up in. Visitors need to clean up after themselves!!

Lovely road/path around 2 fishing ponds as well as trails within. Great for dogwalking.Also a Habitrek Trail but no dogs allowed on it. Off the road
