Loved this trail - happy we got a parking spot.

If you start with the fork to the left, your climb up is the trail made of dirt and tree roots. The climb down is all steps. I liked this route!

There are not many parking spaces. I think it holds 6-8 cars, but it is easy to pull into.

The trail is an easy walk. The rain forest is very thick, so it is hard to get a good view of the ocean.

I was the driver for our family. I found this to be a great first stop on the Road to Hanna. Gave me a little time to appreciate what the next 20 or so miles of roadway would be like.

This is another stop my Wife and I made during our trip to Hana. We almost did the trailhead walk but we realized we didn't have walking shoes and sufficient water. So ... we went a little bit inside the trail, came back out and left. There's no bathroom here that I remember.

We stopped because we saw a few cars parked on the side and this was a great hike. The tree roots cover the entire trail but it is a moderate hike. There is a shorter path as well as a longer hiking path. It is a beautiful view from the top of of the hike across the forest.

This hike was our favorite during our Road to Hana trip, such a beautiful rainforest experience. We just had to take a picture with one of the largest trees we have seen.

Fun nature trail with limited parking. No waterfall, but good lookouts.

Short trail to take to break up the drive on the road to Hana. Sneakers would be preferable, especially after rain. High elevation and slippery rocks

Beautiful and small trail, some steps, gets muddy when it rains

A beautiful hike through the forest. No waterfall access and no real lookout spots, but if you want to experience walking through the Hawaiian rainforest, this is a great trail for you. Short and easy enough that our kids (4 and 6) could walk it as well.
There's a small picnic area at the base of the trail, and another at the top, but no restrooms and the parking at the trailhead is limited.

It's a small hike of a mile, but runs through the huge tropical tree, you could see the devil's ivy vines falling from the branches of tall trees. The huge mango trees, ginger plants, tropical flowers can be viewed while you carry on the hike. The huge roots of the trees are all over the path. In all the trail is just beautiful and I loved it. I would recommend you to visit.

Great little hike on the road to Hana. So many trees and greenery. It had just rained before we started hiking and we found it slippery.

Great short that is not terribly demanding. We came on a day where it was raining on and off, and had been, so the trails were a bit muddy in areas. At the very top of the trailing at the picnic area, there was a bamboo forest. As the wind blew, the bamboo stalks were clanking together it was a quite an experience. I would certainly recommend this trail even if the weather is not perfect

This trail is not too difficult for any able bodied person. There are a lot of roots, some mud areas, and other things usually found when hiking anywhere. The bamboo areas where interesting to stand in, and some of the views where very nice. Rain moves through frequently but doesn't last long usually. I wouldn't recommend walking in heavy rain though as the mud would be too difficult to walk up or down with significant amounts of rainfall.
