Temple Kids Dental

I am so happy with Dr. Piedra at Temple kids Dental. My son needed a crown and I was so thankful they do zirconia crowns! I come from the dental field and material is EVERYTHING and for a mom I want metal free. Also treatment was great and my son was well taken care of! I am thankful I have a great office for my kids and close to home!

These guys are the best! Super cute waiting room with tablets and TVs. The patient chair areas are pretty high tech. My kid didn't have to get up and move to a different room for an X-ray, so he hardly realized one was taken, which was great! The staff was friendly and attentive, and Dr. Olson was very sweet, and obviously very knowledgeable. He took the time to thoroughly analyze the situation and suggest the best treatment plan for a couple of cavities. I forget the name of the treatment we chose, but it wasn't even presented as an option at our previous dental clinic. You can tell everyone there actually likes children, and did a great job putting our squirmy 5-year-old at ease. He was very nervous going in and all smiles going out.

I’ve been bringing my kids to Temple Kids Dental for a few years and we love it. My kids love the cute waiting room with the games and we always get the best service from Robin and Dr. Olson. They are both fantastic dealing with kids who are reluctant to be there and keep them calm and relaxed. I also appreciate they never try to push additional services you don’t really need and have close relationships with local orthodontists when they kids get ready for that journey. Highly recommend Temple Kids Dental!

My daughter has been dealing with a horrible toothache for a few days. So I called Temple Kids Dental and although they were fully booked today they were able to squeeze her in. After X-rays I found out that she had an abscess and a few bad cavities. I recommend these guys 10/10 Dr. Piedra is awesome!!!

Dr. Piedra is a fabulous pediatric dentist!! The attention to every detail to make going to the dentist kid friendly is amazing. Love that this office goes above and beyond to help take care of kiddos in pain and make it so they actually still want to come back!

This dentist accomplished feats in two weeks that my daughter's previous dentists couldn't in years.

I've been to several dentist where all they're willing to do is look at my daughter's teeth make an action plan and then would not schedule a follow-up. All they will tell me is they're trying to get insurance approval , they don't have any appointments open yet and they will get back to me. After a bunch of phone calls they will tell me that it's been too long since her initial appointment and they need another evaluation to go forward. It was all a scam to get more insurance money without doing any work it felt like.

Temple kids dental got me in on September 18th for the initial appointment and by October 2nd they had gotten my insurance to approve the treatment and perform the treatment. They explained the whole procedure in detail before doing it and was there for me till the end when my daughter woke up.

I highly recommend this place.

The waiting area is PERFECT for littles. I had my 3 kiddos ages 6, 3 and 20 months and each of them were entertained in the waiting room while I filled out 3 sets of papers. The hygienist were so sweet and took the time to show the kids everything they were doing. It helped my nervous 3 year old. The doctor was thorough in explaining issues and treatment plans.

My 4 year old daughter loves it here!! The staff is very kind and caring, and they do a really good job of creating a fun environment so that the kids feel comfortable and not afraid. My daughter actually gets really excited when I tell her we’re going to the dentist!!

Dr. Piedra helped my 6 week old with her lip tie! He caught what the lactation consultant and pediatrician couldn’t. It was a quick procedure and he explained exactly what would happen and how I could care for my baby once the procedure was over. He also made sure to check up on my baby a couple of hours later to see how healing was going & let us know we can contact the office with any questions! Front desk was super sweet as well. Dr Piedra is an outstanding doctor! He took the time to explain both medically and in plain terms what was going on with my children’s teeth, giving me reassurance and options. He also took in to consideration my opinions and allowed us to work together for the best treatment plan for my son. During the procedure, he was attentive to all aspects of my son’s care ensuring that we gave him the least traumatic experience possible, and the outcome was tremendous. My son had no complaints and no anxiety surrounding his visits and post procedure. The dental assisting team is also extremely in tune with dealing with young kids, even the wigglier ones, and speaks in empowering terms, explaining to them what is happening throughout your visit. I would recommend Dr Piedra and his team to anyone who asks!

Today was the best day for me and my Autistic Son!
I received excellent service from the front desk , Susana and Dr Alex B.Piedra.
I have been in places that didn’t treated my autistic son well and we had to go home with no service at all.But today we found the best people who cares and understand their job so well👌👌!

Always a great experience if you are looking for a dental place for your children. Temple Dental is the place you want to be. Our experience with Robin Rodriguez is amazing. She is always so ready to do anything she needs to so that you are comfortable. Always has a smile, and makes our little guy feel at home.

UPDATE:
My daughter had been a patient here for about a year before we moved out of state. She never saw the same dentist more than once, except Dr. Olson. So there was no consistency in her doctor.

After multiple visits- I’d like to add that this office is great on occasion, but for the most part, the dentists are always playing catchup. The appointment does go quick, but it’s because you spend most of the time waiting for the dentist to catch up on patients, then they get to you and are still trying to catch up so they fly through your appts.
It all feels impersonal and just another task to check off. Works fine if you just need your appts handled, but not if you’re looking for a community dentist.

Dr.Blackwelder and Maria both made my daughters very first dental appointment everything it could’ve been. Maria was thoughtful, taking pictures, answering any questions before the doctors visit, and setting up the next appointment without me having to ask. Dr.Blackwelder was knowledgeable, careful with my girl, and quick! Each of them cared for my girl, eased any questions I had, and shared knowledge with me that I didn’t have before. Thank you both, so much!!

Being a provider in Texas means we often refer to our colleagues when patients move, when they need better access to care, and when they're better suited in a caring doctor's hands. Dr. Piedra and his staff are just that - a team that provides exceptional care with a family-first attitude. Dr. Piedra's office takes care of our patients wonderfully, and I recommend to any and all families in Central Texas.

Temple Kids Dental have been welcoming all nine years of our visits. Robin is a key partner as she is kind and knowledgeable in her area as a DA. My son will ask to be seen by her only, besides the Doc. I've watched her with other kids and she is just as welcoming and is supportive of parents’ concerns. If she ever relocates we will follow her as we trust her recommendations and opinions. TKD have to know that they have star member on their team!

Dr. Piedra and Dr. Olson have been great working with my son. They are thorough and communicate effectively. They have been patient and connect with my son making him comfortable in letting them work with him. The staff has also been very welcoming and friendly!

Today the staff went above and beyond for both of my children but especially My son. He has a really hard time with going to the dentist. They allowed him to visit the office and see everything before his appointment and with my request he was able to be with Mrs.Susan who gave us a tour of the office.
Mrs. Susan and Mrs. Cindy were so patient with him and helped him through all his fears. They let him feel everything and see how things worked and did things at his pace. It was so great to see how comfortable he was feeling and how proud he was when he made it through all his fears. Today my son sat in the dentist chair, he had pictures done of his teeth, and he let them clean his teeth all of which he has never done at any other office unless put under. I almost cried watching him do all of these things for the first time in 8 years.
I’m so THANKFUL and glad I chose to take my kiddos to this office. We will definitely continue their dental care and recommend everyone toTemple Kids Dental.

I had an appointment for both my girls to get their teeth checked for the first time at this location. I have 4 kiddos, and I had to bring them all with me. Their office created such a fun place for them to relax in. They had a clubhouse for Littles to enjoy some tablet time, and 3 big screens with movies playing to entertain parents and older kids alike. Once we were in the back, I was able to be in the room with both girls side by side and the staff was super friendly and allowed me to ask questions and reassured me of all concerns.

First kid needed fillings on almost all her teeth. (The cute gas cover for their nose made then feel silly and comfortable and the procedure was done with ease)
2nd kid needed baby teeth removals, to ensure adult teeth had enough room to migrate to its rightful place, and the entire procedure was done within 10 min and was full of giggles.

They were scared coming in, but soon found comfort with the friendly staff and Dr we had. They made this experience easy and convenient.

Excellent Service! They got us in at a timely matter for emergency reasons. Was very upfront and forward on what needed to be done with my daughter! Very friendly environment and they answered all my questions I asked! We will definitely be back with the rest of my family! Way To Go TEAM!!!!!
